There is a new live animals policy change going into effect within 30 days. This prohibits all live animals except for those that fall under these exceptions:
* Bees
* Feeder insects such as crickets, Dubia roaches, earthworms, and mealworms
* Ladybugs
* Hatching eggs provided that they aren't from migratory birds or endangered species and the seller provides domestic-only shipping.
This policy change severely impacts the aquarium trade, as it prohibits selling aquarium fish, pond fish, invertebrates, etc...
I am against this change. I advocate for the reversal of this policy change, or the addition of aquarium/pond livestock to the list of exceptions.

For anyone that needs the information on how to contact Ebay
******************************************************************
On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.
I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.
https://twitter.com/askebay
https://www.facebook.com/ebay
https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/
Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

I want to 2nd your opinion. I am against the policy change as well. The allowable animal list is very short. Basically, Ebay wanted to kill animal trades on eBay. it's not only affects the aquarium community. It affects all other animal trade as well.

I agree. I have been running a very successful shrimp business with Ebay for years now and rely on the income from that to supplement my family's income. This policy change would devastate my family! How do you actually call and talk to someone about this? There isn't even a customer service phone number listed any more to call.

Would you please share the notification you got of this change. I haven't seen anything on this. Likely because I don't sell in the category, but I still care. I can see that this would put some very good, long standing sellers out of business.
FYI The current published policy already excludes fish by not even mentioning them in the policy.

Hi @mam98031 . The email from eBay was on one of these threads, along with changes to the policy. It's probably changing to keep up with regulations. eBay's been tightening up on a bunch of categories. With the resources required and the difficulty policing live animal policy compliance, it was probably better for eBay to chop down the list of what's allowed. A lot of fish sellers do have their own websites and I expect those will pick up as eBay listings start to vanish in the 30 days given to sellers to comply with the changes.

Thank you. Seems a bit of a short notice for these sellers that have to revamp their entire business. Hopefully you are correct and most will be fine with their own websites.

Such a flippant answer. Why didn't I think of that. This is a huge deal for me, but thanks.

Sorry that this is affecting you personally, but I am glad to see this change.
I even think it should be extended to bees, ladybugs... all living things, in fact.
I hope the change is NEVER reversed.
How would you like to be stuffed into a cardboard box and jostled about in the dark for several days?
I know we have the capacity to create great things and all that, but humans are truly a foul species in so many ways.

Move to frozen shrimp perhaps?
At least they won't feel anything.

You are up against bigger forces than eBay. Government regulations and animal rights activists. eBay's hands are effectively tied. It is final.

This sounds like a perfect opportunity for someone in the aquarium industry to start a website specializing in aquarium fish, pond fish, invertebrates, etc.

Something better than the antiquated Aquabid.
