The effectiveness of using the variable drop down listings

The effectiveness of using the variable drop down listings instead of single listing where applicable?

Would a buyer be more inclined to look at the dropdowns and buy a second or third item after seeing them and have a choice, rather that searching the individual item (s) wanted.

For instance....I have a lot of small crystal figurines and could list animal types in the title and have selections in a variable drop down menu or list each separately? Also have other items as well that could be listed either way.

Personally I would only do a variation listing on this if all are from the same manufacture and the same scale.

Not sure how many you have, but you may also want to consider selling them as a lot.

It goes both ways.  Some buyers love it and others don't.  I've used variation listings for years and I love them as a seller.

If you are going to use variation listings, make sure you follow the rules.  For example Crystal animal figures would be one with the variations you have and don't forget to denote the size of these items.  Crystal Girl Figures would be a separate one, Crystal boy figures, etc.  Make sure whatever you put in the variation have more in common than just the fact they are crystal figures.

Good Luck.
