Never underestimate the power of graphic design. I believe a store that puts real effort into their branding, graphic design, and overall aesthetic is more likely to be viewed as a trustworthy and legitimate seller. Do you agree? Please add your 2 cents, as I'd love to get some feedback. Thank you and GO SELL!

So what you are stating is that sellers can look like a junkyard and be considered trustworthy and ethical? Yeah, I don't know any highly regarded company that has found any success with unprofessional coloring book-type graphics. This is Business 101 and a no-brainer. If you want success you must look successful with your advertising, etc. With a world of begging freelance graphic designers out there, there is no excuse to not look professional. A store logo will cost you as low as $25 off a freelancer site. eBay store designs start at $99. Websites cost a couple hundred bucks. I know as I have used Freelancers for decades. My web design guy lives in India and provides great support at reasonable prices. My 2 cents as the OP asked for. Have a great day.

@ckimodog wrote:I think if you're going to post a comment like this one, it might be a good idea to have something for sale. I used to have a boss who would tell me..."Anyone can make S*** look good, but in the end, it's still s***." I think what a seller displays in a listing needs to be exactly what the customer receives, no make up or photo shop or whatever. Honesty is a must as a seller. Period.
They have past sales to check out, though. Plain vanilla like mine are.
ETA: Dunno, maybe looking for ideas? I use shop windows I come across in my travels. My closet on posh has a graphic I made from a piece of mid-century fabric. But I'm no professional so try to keep it simple and out of my listings.

Some posters have several eBay ID's. Some only use one ID to post here which shows no inventory. No eBay rule against it that I am aware of. I could be wrong. Just an FYI to your post.

Please be aware that some that post here have multiple eBay ID's. They use one to post here as obviously, this OP did. No rule against it. I believe they do it as some reading their posts may track them down and hassle them for one reason or another.

I once upon a time put a LOT of time and effort into making a store look good. Custom logo, well thought out headers etc etc, only to have ebay wipe everything out and take away stuff I'd worked on over the years, when they decided they wanted to "upgrade" the stores experience and made everyone look the same
Now they want us to 'brand' ourselves again (until the next time they change their minds).
Sorry, nope, not doing that again.

We've always kept it simple: text only descriptions, high quality listing photos, no graphics except of course our logo (on our account profile, not added into the listing description anywhere by us). It's worked well for us over many years now. I don't think buyers appreciate the flashiness as much as you think.

GREAT POSTS!
I don't have the time to play on a store front design when I keep having to tweak / revise my listings 2 plus times year with eBay updates. I just looked at my tasks again which states I have 5 more steps to complete my store. Looks like I can upload 6 photos to show what categories I sell in. I need more like 30. Just not worth it at this time.
eBay going back to the old search algorithms / key words would be best, but that won't happen. Too messed up today! Many people have posted many examples in the past and will continue.
If someone runs across one of my listings, I think the odds are good that they will glance at my other items or do a quick search for other items they may be looking for. I do it as a buyer!
My listings speak for themselves with photos, details, & measurement along with my feedback. I don't think a store front design is going to make me any additional sales.

All I need is clear photos of the item I'm buying and a description of the item I'm buying, preferably in plain old black type - no weird colors, no borders, no designs, no weird font types.
To me, simple and plain is very aesthetically pleasing.
Actually I'm surprised eBay hasn't done away with the lions share of HTML markup scaling it down to things like bullet points, underline, bolding and about it. Presentation does matter in sales of many a product but I've been surprised on numerous occasions how many sellers mobile presentations are just "shot" due to HTML usage and/or very long winded descriptions.

The way eBay is set up, 90% of buyers don't even know your personal store exists. Many know the items are from individual sellers, but they don't know to shop your specific store. I had a buyer message me yesterday who purchased 2 items, one from me and one from a competitor of mine. He received mine and he was asking where the other one was. I enjoyed explaining to him to send XXX a message and ask him.

& I for one HATE rapidly quickly changing pix bombarded in a listing.
it makes me dizzy whenever I encounter this & immediately leave the page!

I thought this OP posted with their selling ID, since it shows a store. There just aren't any listings in it, so I guess they were wondering how their store banner looks. I rarely look at store banners when I buy.
