I just had a buyer win a toy and he lives in the Ukraine. I just joined the EIS program. Does the EIS ship to Ukraine? The buyer has not paid yet.

Not sure about the EIS program, but if they have shipping blocked to Ukraine, you would think it would be blocked also.

That was what I thought too but ebay allowed the buyer to make a best offer and I accepted and he won. It would make more sense if Ebay automatically prevented those buyers in the Ukraine to not bid or to even make offers unless Ebay knows that they are using a freight forwarder or have an address to accept packages in the USA. This is an example where Ebay makes it hard on the buyer too, not just the seller. I am going to cancel the sale now. Thanks for your reply.

The Ukraine currently shows up as an “excluded” country on listings where eIS is the stated shipping method. The only way a buyer registered there would be able to bid on or buy an item forwarded by eIS is if they had their primary shipping address already set to a location served by eIS.

This buyer is in the Ukraine. HE told me after he won that they have "ways of getting the mail over there" without going into details. I actually feel sorry for the guy and would send him the car free if I had this address but I don't. I will cancel the sale shortly.

If you had let the buyer pay the shipping address would have shown up. It is possible they were using a FF or shipping the item to an area where deliveries can be made into the country. EBay has excluded the Ukraine as far as shipping but those buyers have other options.

If somehow the buyer could pay, I might consider proceeding with a sale using EIS.
Seems that eBay will then deal with it.
Could be win/win for buyer/seller.

If the buyer is able to pay it probably would not go through EIS unless the buyer is shipping to another country and then getting it delivered from there. It is also possible the buyer could be using a US based freight forwarder in which case it would also not go through EIS. There would be no way to tell until the buyer paid for the item.

Yup, that could be. Was just going with the EIS as the OP queried about that possibility. Therefore, my, I would if I could 🙂
As OP posted, buyer stated.................... "ways of getting the mail over there"................... so, I would take the shot at it. YMMV OP MMV

The buyer being “in the Ukraine” doesn’t mean that the buyer wants the item shipped “to the Ukraine.”
eBay excludes shipping locations, not selling locations. There’s a difference.
