Well I have had items relisted by Ebay (GTC) and I can't say that my sells have been any better.

I've had more sales then the one.
I don't know why, but the last 5-6 months, it only shows what has sold from multi quantity listings, it doesn't show the single items that has sold.

I have a stupid question: what you are doing with an item which doesn't sell in 30 days? You don't want to relist it. And what? You throw it away? You give it as a present? Or you put it in a garage sale?
If you calculate a profit of say, 10$, then you have quite a room to relist the item several times. 12 months x 0.20$ will cost you additional 2.40$ (could be less, depending of your subscription level). But the probability a potential buyer to see the item is 12 times more, isn't it?
(I am not good in mathematics, but I think I am right!)
I have items sold after 5 years of relisting (in my case 3 $ extra eBay fees)! I cancel them every couple of months and a few months later I list them again as GTC fixed. You don't know when the potential buyer will pop up.
If there is something somewhere in the world there is always somebody somewhere in the world who would like to have it!

Other than doling out the money, it has nothing to do with the seller. It's just another way for ebay to line it's pockets. 1,000,000 listings roll over to relist x's .35 = $350,000.00!! Sweet, push-button extra income for ebay!

It is more time consuming because I have over 200 items to list and only have 100 with my store so I have to go online every day and end listings. Before they just ended and I would get to them when I got to them. It is such a waste of time. In addition, I always liked having the listing end, then I would update it - change out pictures or rewrite the title or description, compare other sales. It was done at my convenience. Not, oh my gosh, 10 items are listing today I better hurry up cancel or I will be charged. And now people will tell me if it is not worth 35 cents to list the item is not worth it. To those people I say how lucky you are that all your items sell in 30 days. Most do not.

I've had 7 sales this month and none of them show up in my solds.

Agreed.. I have about 2500 items I like to rotate out every month and now I can't.. I could adjust my inventory before relisting and now it's a real pain in the rear,, However,, what I sell is doing well on Etsy and I'm moving many of my items there. Listings are there for 3 months then they end like Ebay used to do on the 30 day listing,, at least I can regroup before relisting the item and make sure I still have the yardage I show on my listing.. My sales are still 40% or more down from the first of the year,, just sad ebay did this.. but I too agree it's a money maker for Ebay as if your not watching at the end of the month they relist and charge you for it.. the offer for the 100 free listings they send out at times is worthless as you have to end something to make that happen,, or be charged for it,,

Don't feel bad, my solds have been messed up for around two years now.

Most my items I have multiples or can usually get more if I can find them at the right price.

For a while I was seeing unsolds in my 'solds' - it was bizarre. It's fixed now, but I don't always see all of my solds, either. I have no idea why.

Not everyone pays 35 cents. I pay $59.95 per month for my first 1000 listings and the 10 cents each. I go over by about 200 or 300 per month. My additional sales from the extra listings more the off sets the $20 to $30 per month. Also the time I save in using GTC versus manual listings is well worth the extra fees.
