I went and looked, fully expecting that it was a joke and that I fell for it. But wow.

I can't even imagine having the kind of money that would allow for bidding up at that level. Wow. ![]()

It's all a big waste of money. Warren isn't going to tell you some magic stock picking tips. It's his behavior that has made him wealthy. I follow the guy and everything he does to make his fortune has been disclosed over and over again, so who ever wins, better chalk it up to a very expensive dinner and a mini bio mixed with general business talk.
To make money like Buffet you need to behave like buffet. His fortune started with nothing but an obsession that continues till today. He will die a man who has never worked a day in his life for his wealth, because it's all about playing and enjoyment.

I remember reading awhile back that his kids and grandkids will be inherting his vast fortune instead it's all going to charity.
Buffet is a stand up buy and is the real deal in my opinion.

Actually it's the other way around. Warren doesn't believe that they need all that money. He's pretty frugal. He still lives in the same modest house for the past 60 years. He also doesn't own all these toys that wealthy people tend to own. He believes it's a waste of money and that all that excess stuff is a mental distraction. He's right. That's why I rent most of the things I want to use, unless buying it is cheaper overall.
His family will be well off either way.

My bet would be deadbeat bidder or a snad a week after the lunch when the winner doesn't start making load of money from the tips that he attempted to pump out of Buffet.

Only 6 bidders out of thousands of business people that could afford to spend that kind of money on a single meal.

I hope they pay. GLIDE is a pretty awesome foundation who would put the money to good use.
They needed to frame their words better as to what the money benefits. They wrote:
100% of the sale of this item will benefit Board of Trustees of the Glide Foundation.
They should have left out the board of trustees.
