TOS? Change some of my wording.

Someone in the community here said that I needed to change my TOS.  I had something in there that said that the buyer is responsible for purchasing their own insurance.  Also something about my return policy.  How do I change that?

Re: TOS? Change some of my wording.

Additional TOS in an item description are not enforcable. The thing you have about insurance is not accurate and sounds like it contradicts ebay's MBG. Insurance is for the benefit of the seller. If something is lost in the mail you will have to refund the buyer whether it was insured or not.

Re: TOS? Change some of my wording.

Go to the items in question and hit "edit".  Remove all that stuff that buyer do not want to hear, and that does not apply to Ebay.  Sorry to say but you cannot set your own rules here.

Re: TOS? Change some of my wording.

Yes, I understand that.  That is why I am here.  That 'stuff' has been there for 20 years.  I understand that things have changed.  I am trying to take it off.  I thought there was a way that I could take it off permanently.  Where I don't have to do it auction by auction.  Is there a template somewhere that I can take it off at?  And Coolections, I came here to ask for help, Not to "set my own rules".  I didn't even realize that  it was on there until it was pointed out to me.  As I said before, that has been on there since I started Ebaying which has been 20+ years ago. Perhaps this will be some important information.  I don't put my auctions on here through Ebay,  I have always used Seller Sourcebook since I started.  I like their templates. So maybe I need to change something there?

I understand that.  That is why I am here.  I am wanting to take it off.  I just thought there was a way to take if off permanently and not have to take it off every time I put in an auction.  I was asking for help.

Re: TOS? Change some of my wording.

Once you edit your listing, the next time you relist the item, use sell similar. That will keep it like it was after you removed all your rules.

Re: TOS? Change some of my wording.

Looks like you are using a template in Seller Sourcebook; you'll have to remove the problematic text from your template if you don't want it to appear in every listing that's generated with the template.

You might get more useful advice if you post a thread asking for advice about  using Seller Sourcebook.

Yes, things have changed over the years. I remember back when the eBay invoice form even had a separate line for adding a fee for insurance.  But now the buyer protection policy (AKA Money Back Guarantee) provides the same protection and eBay doesn't want sellers to imply that buyers need insurance.

Another statement that you should revise or remove is "Refunds will be given only if I have overlooked something in the description," which is inconsistent with the information in your "Shipping and payment" tab, which states that you accept returns for 14 days if the buyer pays for return shipping.

Re: TOS? Change some of my wording.

AS said, you may be able to remove it thru Seller Sourcebook..........can't speak to that.....

But if you want to do it on Ebay.......... and IF the verbiage is the same in each listing, you can do a bulk revise, using revise description on this page:

copy paste what you want removed  then click the find and replace and leave the replace blank.  (once you click the find replace, that option appears).

Re: TOS? Change some of my wording.

I should have said also, only try 2/3 the first time to be sure it's working properly.  I left out specifics as to how to use bulk edit, assuming you know/can figure that out.  If you need more specifics....post and I can give them.......

Re: TOS? Change some of my wording.

Sorry, this is off topic, but I did notice when checking on your full description that the additional images you have there are very large and take a looong time to load. I perservered because I wanted to get to the TOS to see what your terms were, but I could see a lot of buyer's just giving up.

In saying that the only real problem with the TOS is the payment section - 10 days to pay for an auction will be over ridden by eBay unless you remove the automatic non payer system they now have in place.

The rest looked okay to me, but I only checked one listing.

It is a great idea to list more images, but maybe scale then down a bit on size.

Re: TOS? Change some of my wording.

@carolann2016 ,

Because you are using SellerSourcebook, I believe you will have to change your template there, as @nobody*s_perfect suggested.

If you try to change the standard text in your description on eBay, it may work for just that listing, but the chances are that you will have to edit it perpetually, because SellerSourcebook will keep adding it again, at least for new listings.

Re: TOS? Change some of my wording.

Thank you for your help.  I have already went through my auctions and taken all of those out.  Hope fully it will make a difference.
