I don't like to buy into conspiracy memes but something is REALLY wrong at eBay or they have just decided they don't want me any longer! I run 3 sites on eBay, my main site, the one I spend the most time on and depend on, is the site with this name, I've been here 20 years & other than a few slow periods, it has made rather dependable sales, I am now down 29.6% since last month.
I have a smaller collectibles site & I fully realize those are not hot items, but have been making occasional sales there, that site is down 42.1% same period . The 3rd site I am helping a terminally-ill friend with, just so he can run out his inventory, it is small, doesn't require much maintenance, mostly all I have to do is mail packages, but has made steady sales for years, it is down 26.8%,
These sites are very different types of products, so really can't be blamed on specific merchandise. This has all happened since OCT 15 to now! Nothing seems to help! I am to the point of panic! I had to borrow money from my son to pay my rent this month if I can no longer depend on eBay, I will be out on the street by year's end! This has always been the best selling season, but not this year! The economy is good, stores are packed! But something is just not right!
I've heard all the stories of eBay wanting to get rid of small sellers and I never put much stock in that, but now I am wondering, is it maybe true??
I really wish I knew some way to jazz sales, but nothing seems to be working any longer!

Hey Cool
Go back to your Ebay Cheerleading......We are all struggling here and I am personally tired of everyone making excuses. Bottom line is Ebay is falling apart.....Sales are dismal, searches are way beyond @#$@ed up, and customers services is non existant.
I pay for all of this above in my fees. I am not getting what I pay for. If you have the Ebay gods in your pocket then I am happy for you....but really quite telling everyone that the seller is the issue here.......its proven that is just not the case.
willing to debate this issue anytime

If you don't like the service at a restaurant do you keep going back?
Same applies to eBay.
Exactly. I can't understand why some people seem DETERMINED to make themselves miserable. If eBay isn't working for you, why are you still here? Why are you putting in the time and effort on something that isn't paying off? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
I have found that some of the things I sell do better on different platforms, so I list them there first. I had four boxes of video game character keychains that I listed on a site targeted to fans of the particular game series-- I sold most of them there and then brought what was left here. eBay isn't the only game in town anymore. There's no reason to stick around if it isn't paying off for you.

@coolections wrote:We will need to just agree to disagree. All your charts and graphs do not get sales and Ebay is once again not hiding your items. What I wrote is exactly how to get sales and is very much help for those who choose to accept the advice. If you choose to do differently that is up to you. It is not Ebay, it is buyers. They have many to choose from and it is up to you to attract them to your items. They see your stuff but there are many others to choose from when shopping.
I'm not sure what exactly you are referring to, but there's sufficient evidence that our marketing tactics work, as I can show you years worth of screenshots of our impressions.
I can then show you the impressions screenshots when we were affected by those technical issues. - https://www.screencast.com/t/SLW5sYyt9
Then I can show them once our tech issues were fixed, and suddenly impressions went back to normal - https://www.screencast.com/t/mzKBYHYJh
You can also see the EXACT DATE we were added to the new catalog in our sales graphs.
I'm sure you have also seen our graphs I've posted in my own topic during our issues. Prior to our issues, we had 2.5 mill impressoins/31 days.
During our issues we were down to 600k.
Once our stat issue was fixed, we are now at 2,050,000. Not quite where we were before, but still going back to normal.
I'm not asking you to agree with any opinions or theories. These are verifiable facts. If you are not getting impressions, other buyers are NOT seeing your items! That is what an impression is - it means you appeared in search!
It is IMPOSSIBLE to have less impressions, and say "buyers see your stuff".
How could you possibly explain this? It's not opinion, it's the definition of the word.

Most is not accurate. Impressions just mean no one went to page 16 to see your stuff. It's there, either no one wants it, no one is willing to pay that much for it, they saw the picture and the price so didn't need to click on it as they knew they where not interested, it's not in demand, there are too many others selling the same thing. Lots of "real" facts, no conspiracies please. How did you manage to sell 2,000 items since August if Ebay hates you so bad ?

There are many that are in the same boat as you. I am down 70% this month and its only getting worse. Best match favors the sellers who sell the most!! If you have a bad week or too it will carry over. when sales slump very badly youll most likely not get out of the whole. Other sites are doing well for me since ebay seems to not want to show ALL items in my store all the time. Ive een here long enough to know a sales slump and this isnt a slump!! Even when i Promote listings my impressions go down to -40%. Every day there is a tech glitch on my store or account and i have to call cs daily. My thoughts are out with the small and in with the big sellers.

I've had fairly good sales over the last 3 months, it has slowed since nov 1st. I don't know why, I dont ask why anymore, I just fill the orders until they pull the plug again...thats eBay...focus elsewhere stress less.

Hard to addapt when i have 800 items listed and my buyers tell me theres only 100-300 items in my store. Demand was high before the search update. When i called yesterday i was told that this "slump" was the most theyve ever been called about and they say there are some major tech issues they havent been able to resolve for months. But keep cheerleading

Thank you, he has more than earned that recognition by sincerely helping others.

That might work as well. Normally I sell 100 or more items on Sunday so far I have sold around fifteen. Despite having added a lot of new inventory.

I can tell you why. I have a lot invested here. If you read my post you will know how much, which by the way is a drop compared to most. But I am not just going to walk away. Yes, I am still making money but the profits have plumeted and the customer service from Ebay has dropped.
I will be a thorn until it either gets better or goes away. I sell elsewhere but have nowhere near the time and money invested as I do here. So until then, I guess you will just have to listen to me as I do you and the cheerleading.
Thanks
