One thing I've noticed lately is it looks like TRS has no weight in the current algorithms. On a page of 240 results, "Top Rated Plus" appears only 73 times. This is much lower than in the past, and it seems there's no reward in search at the moment for being Top Rated. Which is kind of silly, considering you'd think they want to make sure giving customers a good experience is one of the top factors.

And of course, more slots than ever dedicated to PLA.

I had return opened on the 15th and here is the drop of 5k promoted impressions from 14 to 15. On 14 there was disruptions on the Ebay. Nothing else was changed or promoted rates lowered or items removed from promotions. And as you said promoted are down and so organic as well.

I have noticed the same thing, TRS has no weight at all in the algorithm anymore. I know several people that sell in the same category that you and I do, they are VERY HIGH in the metrics and they are pumping out sales like nobodies business.

The search engine got even more screwed up last fall with the category changes and whatever they did to in the back end with all of the changes. There is just way too many changes that this company tries to make in a short period of time that with this "ALL OR NOTHING" approach as it has been for years affects every single category.

PLA just doesn't quite work well in eBay Motors and I have had this discussion with MJ and Nick in their department, but it's like I just have not been able to get anywhere. I think that eBay is placing those with PLA or bad metrics higher since they can make more money.

Yep it's obvious which slots are PLA. And they take up so much room on the current theme that people need to scroll down more than a page on PC to get to see other results, and must scroll multiple on mobile.

Many changes wouldn't be a bad thing IF they fixed all the problems before changing more things and/or actually tested things before release. Instead, they test on the live market and ruin peoples lives while they neglect fixing these issues for far longer than they should persist.

It's an extremely weird situation when we look for common denominators in the search results, and right now it seems to be all ad's, less relevant results, with sellers on top consistently having poor feedback, non-TRS, and not the most competitive offerings/prices.

Shipping time, price, organic rankings, normal PL investment, metrics, TRS - these all seem to not be weighed much or at all atm.

It's extremely strange.

I am not very high but every time I get 2-3 returns in a month I am getting less sales and impressions for at least 2 weeks.

I have been having my worst two months in over ten years of having listings up constantly I have a listing thats two platter mats for turntables. . listing says "2 platter mats" if you type in "platter mats" and click "show auctions only' it doesnt come up. but if you add the 2 in the title, then it shows up. so someone who wants to have a platter mat at whatever they want to pay for it ( started the auction at .99 cents) no one will see it unless they look for "2". no wonder it won't end well. you seem to have to be VERY SPECIFIC in your search all of a sudden to get anything to come up.......interesting.

It's because PLA is being pushed heavily right now. PLA is keyword based.

So in what you explained, organic search is looking for a "perfect match".

But "don't worry, if you just promote your items with PLA, you could easily target the platter mats keywords and be sure you appear!"

I agree. Actually, I don't understand all the talk about "bots". The economy is going to hell. Perhaps eBay is the proverbial canary in the coal mine.

It looks like they messed up the system seriously, some of the products not seen on my store, I tried to edit pictures of an item, got a lot of error messages. And now when I click that item's link it's not even open.

I have a lot of promoted products with zero view count. I don't think I can continue to pay store fees if something not change in soon. I made only one sale in July, from a repeat buyer who probably already follow my store. Based on my past experience with eBay support I can say they never help to resolve any technical problem, usually prefer to not accept it.

exactly the same for me, and it basically started at the beginning of the month. It's like our listings are not being seen. Something is wrong, as my sales were constant daily, and all the sudden it stopped..

Top rated here, sales sinkhole seems more relevant. Can't even get views on the same exact lots of certain items I've been selling consistently for years, let alone get watchers to send offers. All started with the changes, I pulled several listings because I couldn't even find them doing searches for them myself.

Same here with what the above posters mentioned , little to no activity / watchers on newly listed items that I've sold before and know would generally garner more interest.

Also, beginning of July any new listings I made stopped being searchable on Ebay UK (I'm US). Ebay chat says tech team notified they're working on a fix... sucks

It does feel like a light switch was flipped on/off beginning July, I hope it sorts out soon

We also are unusually slow for this time of the year. We are doing everything that we suppose to do listing, revising old listing, putting sales on and yet terrible sales. What is going on?.
