Sudden drop in sales May 2022

That's because PLs were all messed up this weekend, i knew about it, i talked about on private message, didn't post though. It took 5x new campaigns to fix mine, every time zero impressions, zero clicks, after several hours, one got impressions, about 600 after 4 hours, no clicks... ended again and created new. Had 1 sale this weekend, 2 items, same buyer, repeat, not on PL, nothing since, but my campaign is working...only took all weekend to get it there though.

Had a really strange weekend.  2 Sales on Saturday... 2 sales on Sunday and 1 sale today (Monday).  Strange in the fact that for the past weekends I've had zero sales and have sales coming in on Monday and Tuesday.  Usually the weekends are good for me.... go figure.... at this point I'll take anything I can get.

eBay changed the subject line in their email sales notification again on November 3rd.  From "Your sold item is ready to ship" to "You made the sale for..."

Every time they change this notification it seems like they are tweaking things again.

they made several changes @ci1000 I actually called them this weekend due to the PLs, the rep said "did you see the message on your seller hub overview page?" - "what message?" - "They are working on PLs" - I said "let me see" - Click the link for PLA notice - said "that's for PLA, I use PLS, completely different" - rep says, "well they working on it so that maybe issue" - I say  im PM another user I said: "who at ebay is working on PLs on a weekend? and if that's the case ebay should be issuing credits to sellers because you can't make a sale without PLs and if they are "working" on it they can fix it immediately - but they don't - why? - because no one is working on PLs at all on the weekend - they started, didn't finish, went home for the weekend knowing it's messed up" - thanks ebay, your swell.

Hi, just a question. Did you end all your PLs and start a new campaign?. Sales were nonexistent this weekend.

@nilis13 yes, had to impressions were zero, clicks were zero, some I talked to their impressions dropped over 100,000 overnight (fri-sat)... I ended and created new, but wouldn't take either... did it 5x til finally got one that worked Sat night, Sun morn I checked it had impressions and 8 clicks.

My promoted impressions are down for the whole month and are comparable to what they did last year in October 2021. They are down by 59% although nothing I changed. Almost all promoted at the same (not lowest) rate as for the past several months. My sales are very unstable and less. Sometimes no sale for several days. And weekend and holiday sales are close to nothing as if noone was working at ebay and they put the whole syst4m in limbo like you said @nuclearomen . I also have been getting more external views than internal which means they are hiding my listing on ebay to prospect buyers.Promoted impressions are down 59% last month

Yes...who does take THIS problem with NO sales seriously?

I couldn't even PAY my store fees for the second month in a row!

In 2022 I have run a total of 4 30 day PLS campaigns.  About one a quarter which is what I typically do.  The first 3 this year were absolute fails compared to those I ran prior to 2022.  FINALLY, one I ran from early Sept to early Oct performed as it should ... I next started some shorter duration ones which all have done well except the current one ... impressions way down compared to the previous 3 week ...

eBay is messing with algorithms as we get closer to Cyber Monday (just a few weeks away) ... their focus from what a friend mentioned (who spoke directly to eBay) is on the PLA (Advanced) promoting where Sellers pay their AD fees BEFORE anything sells and are competing for the top spots on returned search ...

I sincerely hope its not another case of catering to a smaller group of Sellers who pay to play up front while many other Sellers suffer ...

i usually end and create new when things south in PL...the only "fix" we can do, can call and have ticket made and "maybe" tech support will look into it but everytime in past I have done that nothing changed, doubt they even looked.

@partfinds all I can suggest is to end and create new campaign...really that's all we can do aside from play with election percentages, everything else is on ebay, we have no control or access to their system(s), algorithms etc... I can say that the old way running the same campaign for months doesn't work any more... you literally need to end and start new often - at least every 30 days - been my experience anyways.

Piggybacking off of the other thread you replied to me on yesterday, but it seems like the impressions are borked yet again as of today. It is so strange, yesterday we had a pretty good day and felt like days of old. Then today, it is just like Friday all over again. Where we made several sales in the morning and then at one point the sales have just stopped and we have gone several hours now without a sale. This campaign is only a few days which I restarted on Friday, wonder if I should end it and start it all over again.

I can basically guarantee I know more about how eBay works (especially on the technical side) than almost anyone I'd ever spoke to at eBay. Including the leadership team. Who, BTW, know shockingly little.

Leadership members who represent them in IRL meetings were unaware of how service metrics work, in addition to them literally saying during a meeting with other leadership members "Once you have an eBay customer, they're *your customer*, meaning you could market to them off eBay or in any way you'd like". It's like, um, have you even read your basic policies or sold on eBay before...? lol.
