Subscriptions & selling limits

First, certain subscriptions can increase my selling limit, correct? I’ve read mixed information as to if this is the case, or a selling limit is only determined by eBay’s view of your performance.

Second, is it worthwhile to get a subscription in the middle or end of a month, or is it better to get a subscription at the beginning of a month? I ask because I am curious if my selling limit increase would only last until the end of that calendar month, or if it would last until the next month on the day of which I started subscription the previous month? For example: I purchase a subscription that increases my selling limit on Oct. 23rd. Would my selling limit be increased only until that month ends, or would it be increased until Nov. 23rd? Only asking cause I want to make the best usage of when I purchase my selling limit increase.

Your selling limit is not as far as I know impacted by a store subscription. It is possible to have  a store subscription with a bunch of listings you cannot use. I would build up to where you have a higher limit before subscribing.

Do you currently have monthly selling limits?
If you do, getting a store subscription won’t increase them. You can request an increase every 30 days.

Selling limit is up to ebay But if you asking about the free listings, say you get a store with 1000 free listings on the Oct. 23rd, on the 1st of the Nov. you'll get another 1000 free listings.

But also be aware on Nov. 23th the listings will renew and count towards the Novembers free 1000 listing.

No, a store subscription doesn't have anything to do with your personal listing/selling limits.

I don't know if you have a listing limit, but you currently have 274 items listed.

Since you get 250 per month free, you are being charged .35 for each additional one.

You would be doing yourself a favor to get the basic store subscription. Even if you have a limit (which I don't know), you'll be saving yourself some money on the annual plan.

If you want to try for a month before committing to the annual plan, you can see exactly what benefits that will give you for $27.95.

Since you want to look at numbers, I would just go ahead and start it on the first of the month so there is no pro-rated half month numbers to figure out.

You have to earn an increase in your selling limit by your performance as a seller. You cannot buy it.

Sorry, I meant listing limit, not selling limit. So, my listing limit can or cannot increase with a "basic store" subscription? My current listing limit is 250/month, and I've been stuck at that limit for a couple months, although I have positive feedback and have been fulfilling orders. I hear you on building up more. Thank you for taking the time to respond!

Apologies, I meant listing limit, not selling limit. Every time I request an listing limit increase (I'm at 250), I get declined, more specifically it tells me I am not eligible for an increased limit, even though I have fulfilled orders with positive feedback (from my knowledge the 2 things that are required for listing limit increase). So, am I missing something in terms of what needs to be fulfilled from my end for an increase, or does it simply just take time? Thank you for your response!

Unless something has changed, not everyone gets the 250 free inserts when they sign-up or if they haven't sold for a while limits can kick in too. Limits can be $ or number of listings.

@knights-watch You have more than 250 items listed so you must be referring to free insertion fee listing which is 250 per month. Any listings you have over 250 per month you are being charged for.  250 free insertions is what all sellers can use.
Totally different from a  listing limit or monthly selling limit those are limits imposed by eBay where you can list xx amount of items and earn xx amount of money monthly.
If you are looking for more free insertion fee listings you would need to research stores subscriptions to see what is the best fit for you and to get the most out of free insertion fees.
I have a basic store that gives me 250 free auction style listings in collectables and fashion if I decide to use it. There is 1000 free fixed price listings for any category.
I also have 10,000 free insertion fee listings in Books & Magazines which I use exclusively.

If you don’t have monthly listing fees then the Basic store subscription maybe a good fit for you.

You would also need to decide if you wish to pay your subscription yearly or monthly.

I originally meant listing limit, sorry, so, yes the free listings. Okay this makes sense. So, it'd be 1000 free listings from initial purchase of said subscription PLUS 1000 more when it hits the first of the month? Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this subject. This answer is helpful and I appreciate your time on the matter!

You have 274 listings right now, so your listing limit is higher then 250.

As far as free listings, it's 250 a month.

Have a great day.

Ok so for example a "basic store" doesn't increase my free fixed-price listing limit to 1000? On the chart I am looking at that is what it claims. Listing limit is only increased by choice of eBay, based on my seller performance? Thank you for this response I appreciate you!

Just so you are clear.

If you list 1000 Fixed Price listings in October, they will renew in November and use your 1000 free listings allotment for November.

It is NOT "plus" 1000.
