Hello
Strange message
The other day I received a message from someone who has zero feedback and zero everything else.
And the message was like this:
Glad you decided to make junk drawers
And I didn't know what to answer.
And I replied like this:
Hello
Thank you
Have a good night
Did I do the right thing?
Thank you

I agree with most everyone's response here... No need to be concerned. It's not as if you're getting a strange message where someone reveals your street address, or what clothes you're wearing that day.

Whenever you get messages like that ignore them. Those are what you call haters or trolls. They either don't like the item you are selling or don't like you are making profit off it. It's none of there business so I ignore. You could report the message to Ebay and let them handle it if you wanted to go that route cause they really shouldn't be sending messages that have no base on a sale at all.

I just block and don't even respond to something like that.
ETA: @cristian3_6 After looking at your listings, I think the message might have been innocuous and the messenger just didn't understand that many sellers use "junk drawer lots" as part of the titles of their items.

Never respond to unknown emails or phone calls.
Block whenever possible.

I happen to like your junk drawers...

I agree with all the others. I never respond to rude (or weird) emails. I've received my share of them. Most of us probably get them at one time or another. Don't worry about your response, just don't respond again. And always block immediately.
Unless it's a true inquiry, you have no obligation to respond.

I'm not even a seller and once in a blue moon I get a weird message that makes no sense. Trolling? I don't know. I treat them just like unwanted Email...check...delete....................

Some of the OP's listings are lots consisting of watches or jewelry with the words Junk Drawer in the title. I don't think this would be buyer intended to insult the OP.
I get a couple of messages each year saying they really like my merchandise. They're glad I have listed some discontinued, hard to find items for sale. I reply in a courteous, gracious way, hoping for a future sale. Eventually, most end up buying little or nothing. My biggest sale in 2025 was from one of these 'message senders'. It was 17 items and 21 units.

Hey, the mini Toslink adapter worked great!! Thanks so much for getting them out so fast! I'll leave your feedback very soon, way behind.
I need these fuses and other things from you. I keep getting screwed by sellers on here, sending me wrong items, sending me items grossly mis-represented, thus tying up my money$ for no reason! Anyway, as soon as I get caught up, I'll definitely be buying more from you! Thanks, redacted buyer name
Dear redacted buyer name
My descriptions are thorough with all of the text from the package and the catalog too. Everything listed is in stock. Thanks for the words of encouragement.
Sincerely,

You bet redacted seller name. I am very pleased with the mini things, they work great! I'm way behind on my feedback so it may be a week or so. I'm going to get started on all of it tonight though.
I will be buying more from you too! Thanks so much, redacted buyer name.

I often receive messages stating something like this about an item (ie, I really like this suit).
I think many of them are just looking for an offer.
If it's something I'm willing to make an offer on, I send it. If it's not, I just ignore it.

Yep - no hate, no trolling. Just maybe fishing a little (discount) or just chatty.
Not everybody is out to get us.
