A buyer bought several items so I sent them an invoice for combined shipping- as is my normal process I checked the box to copy myself on the invoice. I got a copy of the invoice and saw that eBay decided to add information about payment by check.
My name and address were posted below that. At first I thought it was related to an international sale somehow (spelling of cheque instead of check, mention of post instead of mail)- but I verified the buyer is in the US.
It appears to be another system glitch, but I don't want buyers to get confused thinking they can send checks. This was not a category that supports alternate forms of payment. I send a different buyer an invoice a couple of days ago and didn't have this problem.

Is it remotely possible that you were logged in to eBay UK by mistake?

Good thought- but no.
I sent a message to the buyer apologizing for the site error and asked her to disregard the text about sending a check.

For anybody following this topic- the text about mailing a check is only visible on the seller's end. The buyer is seeing a different format of invoice and can't see the info about mailing a check. That's news to me because i thought we were supposed to get an exact copy of what the buyer gets. The problem was reported to the tech team.
