Okay so not in my messages, doesn't say buyers name and all I can do is answer the question.
that page says :
All answers provided will be publicly available on eBay. See our All answers provided will be publicly available on eBay. See ourcommunity guidelines.
So what is this and why would I not get a direct ask the seller a question? It does have the item and listing in the email

Well it also should show in my messages, so you don't think it is a spoof. Which I did forward it to eBay as a spoof. The other problem is it gives you no info on the person asking the question.

The "correction" is for the all the buyers to understand the difference between the catalog page and a listing page and push the correct button for the type of question they have..... never gonna happen.

You aren't supposed to direct your answer to the person asking the question. You're supposed to answer the question so it can be displayed as part of a "FAQ" on the catelog page. It's part of all the new "features" to bundle listings in to "landing pages" ie look like the River.

So how do I find my answer. You are saying that the question was for all sellers of that item.

@dtexley3 wrote:@badrock someone is asking a question about an individual listing using the catalog page. As I recall that question is emailed to several of the sellers with the idea that one of them will answer. Those questions are supposed to be about the item in general and not a specific listing. We can see how that went...
Not like we didn't warn them.....

Yes but the problem is buyers are often asking questions regarding specific listings from specific sellers, so in this regard posting that informationwill not only be useless in general but it also has the potential to give other sellers some kind of competitive advantage if one seller is unwittingly exposing that information for public view in hopes of getting the sale.

Wow guess I should have checked my emails letting us know about that change, along with the new seller hub. Okay so I told the buyer to contact me through the ask the seller link LOL.
10-19-2017 02:47 PM
HaHa well my answer was " I'm sorry, I have no idea what you are talking about. Please contact me directly from the listing page". So now this poor whoever is more confused than me.

Okay so let me see if I got this straight, If bidder uses that link it also goes to anyone else selling that item or just me. Also when I answer does it go to everyone or just the original op. And where do I see the answers. Think I will start a new post on this.
10-19-2017 03:14 PM
Never Mind someone else started a post on it already, headed that way for 4 pages of reading. Why do we fix things that arent broke. Today I had to update my ipad and iphone, totally crashed lost a bunch of stuff had to reset 90% of my settings ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRgh. Another site I sell on changed the categories so all listings ended and now ebay. Think I just go back to Flea Markets hahaha

If you item has a product page, the "ask seller a question" has been replaced with "ask ALL sellers and BUYERS" a question.
If the question does not relate to the item in 'general' the question and the answer will NOT be posted and will go off into cyberspace never to be seen again.
If the item does relate to the item itself, the question will be posted and any answers eBay deems 'relevant' will be posted on the PRODUCT page itself, and at some point it will start to show at the bottom of every ones listing just like the "reviews" do currently.
****************************************************************************************************
If your item is NOT connected to any product page, the "ask a seller a question" is just completely gone.
*************************************************************************************************************
eBay id's are NOT coming through even if your buyer puts his id in the question (learned this playing with Sy through private message so he could take the info back to the people that created this mess and find out what is going on).
**************************************************************************************************************************
So in conclusion if you want to talk to your buyers you are going to have to do one of several things.
1) Stop telling buyers to use "ask seller a question" That option no longer exists, it either goes to every seller or it the button is not on your listing.
2) Tell buyers to use "contact Seller" up under the eBay id at the top of the listing.
3) Create a link in your listing that takes buyers right back to your eBay messaging and by pass the entire mess ebay has created.

Well this question was will I bypass Pay-pal and take a Credit Card. I have pay-pal only in my listings. So do all sellers of this product get to see that question?

Every single seller that is connected to that product page will get that question.
Ya'll can answer till the cows come home though... cause no one is ever going to see that answer, and no one else will see the question or any of the answers... they simply vanish into space.
I lost a sale on 6 figures (star wars toys) Saturday cause of it.
****************************************************************************************************
Had the buyer asked "How do I use this ____________, or is this _________ compatible with _________" the question and your answer (had you answered) would then appear on the product page... not even sure if the question/answer posts if the buyer gets the answer then... or if they have to go find the product page, scroll down to the bottom and then read through all previous questions and answers to find theirs.
