Store renewal email from ebay this morning.

I received an email from ebay this morning concerning my store subscription.  First, it addressed me as:  Hi secured  (which I found strange) , but then the information was wrong.  Is this to confuse/trick sellers that may not pay attention to the fees or just incompetence?

"Hi secured,

Your yearly Basic Store subscription will be renewed on May 1, 2018.

The monthly subscription fee for your Basic Store is $15.95. This subscription begins on May 1, 2018. Your new subscription and the length of the term of your new subscription will renew automatically and continue until you cancel it.

Your payment method on file will be billed monthly in the amount of your monthly fee, as shown above..."

I would certainly like to be billed in the above amount. The message goes on to say the terms are subject to change.  Well, yes, considering I'm paying more than $15.95 now, and of course, the new fees will be going in to effect by my renewal date.   How many sellers will renew based on this information and find out too late to cancel that it is really misleading & wrong...

And once again - this is the same company that wants to handle our payment disbursements.

exactly my question.

If it was an email without a corresponding message in eBay messages, I would question the authenticity.

I have never seen eBay call someone 'secured', unless that is the name you have on the account...Smiley Very Happy

That really looks suspicious. Are you sure it is from eBay?

I got one, too, also in my Ebay Messages, I noticed that it's the wrong amount, it said $49.95 for my Premium store subscription renewal -- I thought Woo Hoo, I'm "grandfathered in" at the old amount. But when I check my most recent invoices, nope, I'm paying the $59.95/mo amount..... sending out old outdated messages, Ebay ????

Glad to hear that...I think.  I found it very odd to use a friendly greeting like "Hi" and then use "secured" as my name.

It's actually a very badly worded email anyway, always has been.

The your monthly fee is part is ONLY if you're on a yearly subscription, but it doesn't SAY that.
