Did you mean:

Stop bothering me when I’m at work!!

I have a buyer who complained that the item he received was lighter shade as listed. I asked him for a photo thinking if his complaint was valid I would just send a replacement. Shade is tricky because one man’s light is another man’s dark. It’s likely if I just sent a replacement without a photo it might be exactly the same as the original which the buyer still believes to be light.

Anyway, the photo I receive is laughable. A super blurry photo of the item in a dark room. I can barely make out the item. He comments “it’s actually lighter than it shows in my photo”. I reply that I need a clearer photo to bring up with my supplier in order to be able to send a replacement. Otherwise I’d need him to return the item back. I sent this message in the middle of the night.

The next afternoon I get his reply and his tone changes. He says he doesn’t have time for this (censored). “Stop bothering me when I’m at work! I’m too busy to deal with you right now.” (Does he really think these messages are real time?) He says he doesn’t want a replacement but a full refund.

I restated for him to return the item. But he replied he can’t as he threw it away right when he opened the package because he was so peeved. And said if I want it back I’m too late. I find out thru feedback that he’s done this to other sellers too… demanding a refund without returning the item back. I wonder if a payment dispute is in my future.

I just feel bad that I forced him to open his eBay messages while he was busy at work making me bother him during work hours… whatever time of day that might be.

Are we still IN a full moon, or just out?  LOL

Funny, your Buyer did not mention when he was not busy at work that he threw his order away?

(I will trade you in chocolate and 1 slightly pre-loved Jar Jar (found him this week at the church thrift for 40 cents) to PM me the name of this buyer.  (j/k.  sorta.  lol)

What a bleep. Even though he hasn't opened a return, I think you should report him based on his demand for a refund when he claims to have thrown out the item, plus his history of doing this to other sellers.

Re: Stop bothering me when I’m at work!!

I would say whatever I have to say to encourage the buyer to open an eBay return case. Then when they do, you have proof in writing that they destroyed the item and can't return it. Case closed/feedback removed.

Never click on "ask ebay to step in and help". You have to contact them by chat or phone.

Bologna. His story is ridiculous. Just stop responding. He will either go away or have to file a refund request, to which you will respond that the item will need to be returned first. Don't even address his claim to have thrown it away.

I would not reply to further shrieking emails (outside of any official dispute), because any reply you make, any at all, will not satisfy him; he will find some way to get more offended no matter what you say, so just don't.

Not much you can do in this situation but ride it out. As others said I would stop responding to him. If he opens a case with eBay or a chargeback then work it from there. Not worth stressing over. If he leaves negative feedback simply respond to it in a cordial manner.

Re: Stop bothering me when I’m at work!!

This is only tangentially relevant to your problem, but just had to make sure:  YOU do know that sellers are not allowed to leave negative FB for buyers, right?

The reason that issue comes up is because this buyer evidently received negative FB because he did similar things to other sellers and they left negative FB.  He could have had that removed and those sellers would have received defects.

Just please don't fall into that trap.

He threw it away as soon as he opened the package, but he was able to send a photo when you requested it?

@bigdeals.etc  What a joke! And @releasethekraken_1 had an excellent point. I wouldn't respond anymore. If the buyer opens a return, then go from there. And I would definitely add him to my BBL.

I used to sell clothes on my personal ebay store. I started adding that colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings.

Generally I said I found out thru feedback. I didn’t say the buyer received false positives from other sellers… because he actually didn’t receive any. That was not how I found out btw.
