I am hoping someone can help me. I sold an IPhone, shipped to a seller, they claimed it was defective and wanted to return it. They sent me back an empty box. eBay is refunding them and I can’t get any help. I appreciate anyone that has advice on what to do.

All you can do is appeal after the refund is complete, for whatever good that does. Sorry this happened to you, its an old story in here with IPhones.

File mail fraud with USPS and file a police report, then use those to appeal the case.

Do you have the serial number of the phone? Have you reported it as stolen to Apple?

Look into filing a small claims lawsuit. You'd have to file in the buyer's small claims court, but many courts still allow Zoom-type appearances after they started doing that during COVID. Some require you to get permission. It's still your word vs theirs, but the small claims court would decide in favor of whoever they believed most.
