I'm contemplating a 'Starter store,' but have a few questions that were not answered in the ad I received from eBay:
1). will I still have my 50 free auction lists in addition to the 100 fixed price store listings?
2). Do store listings come up in the regular searches like all other listings?
3). Historically, it seems eBay throws you those 'list 100 (or so)' free listings for a few days promos for a while THEN stops giving you those extra free listings, suggests a store, then no extra free listings for a good while again if you don't get the store (trying to starve you out). Does anyone else notice this? Just wondering if that still seems to be the pattern (so I can plan accordingly if I don't do the store).
4). Is the 4.95 'starter' store a temporary offer or is that a new level they've added? (Seems like the least expensive store was $9.99 or $14.95/mo.?)
thanks in in advance for any info anyone has to share!

- No. Ony non-store owners get the 50 free-insertion-fee listings.
- Yes.
- Who knows?
- It's a new level of store. It is $4.95 a month, if you commit to a full year. Otherwise, it is $7.95 per month. These prices are in effect until eBay changes them.

Well, if you typically post 150 listings, then you can save money on fees with a starter store, whether you make a yearly commitment, or you take the monthly rate.
Here's how the numbers add up:
No Yearly Monthly Store Store Store Monthly fee: $ 0.00 $ 4.95 $ 7.95 Free listings: 50 100 100 Paid listings: 100 50 50 Fee per listing: $ 0.35 $ 0.30 $ 0.30 Listing fees: $35.00 $15.00 $15.00 Total: $35.00 $19.95 $22.95

Actually, I noticed that you had about 175 completed items last month (April). If you continue to list that much, then you might be able to save even more money with a Basic store and 250 free listings, if you go with the yearly subscription.
No Yearly Monthly Yearly Monthly Store Starter Starter Basic Basic Monthly fee: $ 0.00 $ 4.95 $ 7.95 $21.95 $27.95 Free listings: 50 100 100 250 250 Paid listings: 100 50 50 0 0 Fee per listing: $ 0.35 $ 0.35 $ 0.35 $ 0.25 $ 0.25 Listing fees: $35.00 $17.50 $17.50 $ 0.00 $ 0.00 Total: $35.00 $22.45 $25.45 $21.95 $27.95 (excluding final value fees)

If I do a store I have to pay .30 per auction, right? I'd hate to have to do that. I like to list at least twice as auction then move to BIN.

Thanks lacemaker3. I've had a couple collectors clear out most my inventory, so it'll take me a while to build /paint up my inventory again.

I don't know about the starter store, but my premium store subscription includes 500 free auction listings/month.

I was hoping I'd misread the info from the link eBay sent me so I went back to check
https://www.ebay.com/sub/subscriptions?roken2=s.p.bUw==.g3424.clp
Which seems to conflict with this (says fixed price OR auction):
https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/seller-updates/2018-spring/ebay-stores.html
Thallidguy - do you list in collectibles or fashion? If I'm reading it correctly (for starter store) the 100 free can be used as auction if listed in collectibles or fashion.
Art (where I list) doesn't appear to fall under collectibles.

The auction format free insertions for al Stores (including Starter) can be used in 13 categories, including Art. See the full list here:

Does anyone know - for starter store free auction listings - does it automatically come with BIN or do you have to burn a free listing to add BIN?

Okay, apparently I can post a photo. This is a screenshot of the page that came from link eBay sent me. See why I say it looks like only free auctions for collectibles and fashion for the starter store?

eBay uses the terms "fashion" and "collectibles" to describe that list of 13 categories. It's confusing because they use the term "collectibles" in two different ways.

All Stores subscribers must pay a listing upgrade fee in order to add a "Buy it now " option on an auction-format listing. The fee ranges from 5 cents to 25 cents, depending on the BIN price. You can see the pricing chart in the main Stores fees page that I linked to.

It seems like, at one time, when they first started giving out the allotment of free monthly listings they did say 'in fashion and collectibles' and lumped art under collectibles.
I've had a store before (years ago) and the extra fee for BIN rings a bell.
You've been very helpful. Thank you! 🙂
& thank you eBay for being as clear as mud, as usual.

The free auctions for Stores were originally only for 7 or 8 categories which eBay referred to as "Collectibles" even though one of those categories is also called Collectibles. "Collectibles" (in the broader, free auctions sense) has always included the Art category. Then eBay added 6 or 7 "fashion" categories (which includes clothing, jewelry, etc.).
