I have paid $4.95 for a Starter Store & will be billed monthly. I sold on eBay two years ago but took a rest until now. I'm reading through Community posts that as a new seller, I don't need a store, just list & sell. As I made a template for an item, there was no mention of my store name. I need your advice on whether to try & stop monthly payments through eBay somehow (probably complicated as this whole process has been with so many new things) or continue. Also, I don't remember reading how many free listings I get with this subscription, if I decide to continue with it. I need your advice please!

Here is the info that I got today, "the help page has an error and it's being fixed, and Starter Store subscribers get 250/month free auction or fixed-price listings, in all categories." Hoping to get the page updated by the 10th so keep an eye out!

A Starter store subscription gets 250 free insertions per month, which is the same as sellers with no store.
Non-store: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/selling-fees?id=4822
Store: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/store-fees?id=4809
I have never heard of a seller being able to back out of their annual Store subscription without paying the early termination fee. As you can see in the following document, which is the store terms of service, canceling an annual Starter subscription right after you start it will cost a penalty fee of $19.80.

Will my fees be higher with no store?

Thank you. I still don't understand why the name of my store wasn't asked for in making the template.
Also, can I use the store name I had two years ago or the new name I created?

A Store has a subscription fee.
No Store-- no fee.

The subscription fee covers the cost of a given number of listings, and the subscription itself allows reduced listing fees if that allowance is exceeded.
You also get a coupon for branded shipping supplied.
You can organize your Store so that you have your own categories. (I think of these as aisles in my shop- this aisle has cereal that one has detergent another is baking and flour)

Always best to read and ask questions first before jumping in with both feet. Since you've already signed up and would incur a penalty fee for cancelling, keep it and make the most of it!

Starter store subscribers do not get a coupon for shipping supplies.

No matter how many free listings you have, as a "new" seller you will have restrictions.
Best to read about new seller restrictions.
These are usually a number of listings or a $ amount of listings, which ever comes first and are per calendar month.
A store does not over ride these restrictions.
Also "new" sellers will have funds held for up to 30 days.

Will my fees be higher with no store?
Paying for a store subscription is sort of free because you receive a number of discounts.
Final Value fees, some free promoted listings, free shipping supplies (for larger stores).
I still don't understand why the name of my store wasn't asked for in making the template.
It is not necessary to manually load your store name into the listings. The store name associated with your seller ID is automatically displayed in your listing.
Also, can I use the store name I had two years ago or the new name I created?
When a buyer is looking at your listing, they will see a link to View Sellers Store.
This is the store associated with the seller ID lindac871
Visit seller's eBay Store: LoPriceDeals4U

or the new name I created?
I will let someone else clarify having more than one store associated with one seller ID.

Final value fees are not lower for Starter stores in most categories.

It is not possible to set up multiple store subscriptions for one user ID.

If you're asking if people can see that you have a store:
Your store name is on your store page: https://www.ebay.com/str/LoPriceDeals4U
Just as mine is on my store page: https://www.ebay.com/str/bargainzbabylon
It also appears as the URL for any marketing materials you send, on each listing you make, as well as at least two links in that listing to visit your store.
ETA: I can't answer whether you actually need a store or not - I have a starter store because I've had a store for years and my buyers are used to browsing it, but I'm kind of a niche seller. For $5/month I like the footprint.

But the 250 free for a Starter Store are in "select" categories. This causes issues for those choosing the $4.95/month level store.

I might be misunderstanding eBay's fees page. This chart seems to indicate that "select categories" for auction-format listings only applies at Basic and above, and "select categories" for fixed price listings only applies to the bonus listings, which Starter stores don't get.

If you look at the link I provided, it states it in the orange colored matrix clearly under starter store.

Well, I don't see any orange matrix on that page, just purple. I find various charts that contradict each other. So IMHO we should defer to somebody who actually has a Starter store who can confirm whether they're charged for auction-format listings in the categories that aren't on the special list. Maybe the OP can help us out here.
Here's a chart from the page on free insertions, which your linked page linked to. eBay needs to tidy up all this stuff.
