Sports Cards Problem "Card Attributes is not allowed as a variation specific"

I've sold thousands of cards using variations listings. Now when I try to update my listings I get the message:

"Card Attributes is not allowed as a variation specific"

and I can't even save the old auction. Can someone please tell me whats going on? Is there a box I need to check somewhere? Please help.

Same here. I cannot update what eBay is requiring soon because of this. They are requiring all listings to say if the card is graded or not. I have corrected all the individual cards but I cannot with mult-variation listings because Card Attributes is now no longer allowed to be multi-variation, which makes no sense. eBay is loosing its mind!

I am having the same problem.  What a generic message???  If you are going to display an error message, they can at least be more specific.  Now I have a listing I can't list and don't know how to fix??  Do the people who make these changes ever actually list or sell anything on eBay - I doubt it.

Reply to my own post above now that I know what the problem is:  "I am incredibly disappointed in eBay.  This requirement to change card listings to CARD NUMBER instead of CARD ATTRIBUTE by July 12th is having a major impact on thousands of users.  I understand eBay's desire to standardize to CARD NUMBER, but since was allowed for so many years and therefore thousands of sellers listed this way, the least they could have done is provide a migration strategy to CARD NUMBERS.  Requiring sellers to change their listings, some with hundreds of variations, by wiping out their current listings and re- inputting all the information again is unfair to eBay sellers who have been selling sports cards this way for years and years.  They could at least have provided a solution or tool to allow sellers to make this change without investing 100s of hours of work redoing their listings. As per my opening remark - I am incredibly disappointed in eBay."

It's not just a  glitch for cards.  I had the same problem recently trying to use the variation "color" and "size".

I have seen all the complaints re the ebay  statement  "Card Attributes is not allowed as a variation specific"  

Would somebody help , I am having the same problem, I have sport cards variation's that need changes, I have tried to revise but will not let me update listing. i then spoke to ebay and was advised to cancell listing and go into sell similar , make changes and relist....well this did not work either...

Other then re doing all this work is there someone let me know if there is  the step by step process to resolve.

I have called EBAY for over 3 months and they keep saying they are working on the resolution..

I feel sorry for the people that answer the phones because it is not their fault but somebody has to do something.

Hi I have this same issue for some time now and have spoken with many people at eBay; and to be honest I am convinced they do not have anyone in IT that knows what the root of the problem is or how to fix it.  I agree with many others here , this is very frustrating, not being able to make changes and relist the items.

The problem is that when you set up your original listing, you used a variation-specific with the particular name "Card Attributes". When eBay later made changes, that name became reserved for an item-specific function and was no longer allowable to use for variation-specifics.
