We keep getting this message but only when trying to invoice items listed on E-bay Motors? No cars listed, actually tools. Anyone dealt with this before ? Thank you in advance.

The reason you are having this problem is because your tools are listing under EBAY motors. Try changing category to Home & Garden, Tools & Workshop Equipment, Hand Tools, Wrenches, Socket Wrenches.

What and why are you trying to invoice and why? When an item sells, the buyer gets a pay now invoice sent to them directly from eBay. Are you trying to combine sold items into one shipment? No I can't help, but more information might help someone with the correct help.
Side note; the Motorcycle manual might show MM but you would have to buy it from the Post Office. Only books and qualifying items listed in the correct section will allow you to buy MM postage through eBay.

They are listed in ebay Motors in this category:
Automotive Tools & Supplies>Hand Tools>Sockets &Socket Sets
Would think that should work and not have to be moved to a different category?

Could be a trigger word somewhere in the listing. There should be no reason for having to list in the garden section when tools if a valid category under the eBays motor section.

Don't list them in EBAY MOTORS (change to HOME & GARDEN, Tools & Workshop Equipment, Hand Tools, Wrenches, Socket Wrenches.

Thank you. Do you have any idea why ebay Motors would give this message ?

We just received this e-mail from ebay:
I appreciate you for being so professional taking this matter with us and please be informed that the option to send an invoice is not available for items listed under eBay motors.
This is not correct is it ?

If all they bought was one set of jumper cables, you don't need to send an invoice. The new listing tool has nothing to do with buyers not paying, they pay the same way they did before any listing tool changes. The buyer has 4 days to pay, on the 5th you cancel for non payment and they get a strike.
The original question is about multiple items bought from different listings being combined.

Sorry for reviving this, but I'm rather upset about something right now. I've had the same thing happen and sellers SHOULD be able to invoice regardless of category. Someone purchased a set of wrenches with buy it now and I doubt they will be paying. So I can't invoice them. I just have to wait 4 days then file a non paying buyer and wait for the order to be cancelled? That's nonsense! Buyers have 4 days to figure out how to hit the pay button and there's nothing I can do but send a message that will likely be ignored. Anyway, I have other hand tools listed. I've tried changing all of my tool listings to (HOME & GARDEN, Tools & Workshop Equipment, Hand Tools, Wrenches, Socket Wrenches) and the "improved" listing tool states it's an invalid category. So does that mean I'm stuck listing hand tools in ebay motors? Sorry for the rant, but it would be great for sellers to have some control over their listings again.

This is an issue that has been around for far too long. There are a lot of reasons why a seller should be able to send a buyer an invoice for a "Motors" sale same as any other sale. First, shipping discounts for whatever reason. Second, a message to the buyer about a whole host of things including other listings and carrier/boxing info. Third, an invoice from a seller will likely get more attention than a payment reminder from eBay because the company sends so many messages and emails many of which are just worthless junk stuff.
I note some say "do not list in motors is the answer." But it happens and a seller should be able to invoice. This is an eBay created issue. It is NOT the responsibility of the seller to fix it or work around it. It is a glitch that should have been corrected long, long ago by the creator of the problem...namely eBay.

eBay - WHEN will this be fixed?????? I sold a parts cleaner hot tank for $5,000 and the eBay rep said I had to cancel the order, then relist in the WRONG and INAPPROPRIATE category. It worked, but what a pain in the ass!
