Some person has thrown rat poison wrapped in ground meat Monday and Friday. Trying to kill my German Shepherd Dog who's never been a problem or outside without me being there. She loves people and ..... I just don't know...Caught the ingestion of poisin within the 1 hour vital window. Emergency fix big bucks, thank God she's alive.
Now, cleaning snow from roof edges (got a big sub zero blast coming). According to my electric provider Avista - I have a major power line issue. "Do not go out in your backyard" "We won't be there for 3/4 days because of the power outages".
Have been letting my dog out to go potty etc 6 times per day, but in tiny area (front yard). Now, can't get ebay stuff out of shop out back to photo and list. This sucks. According to power company I almost died tonight when wet heavy snow caused power surge thru cherry tree with main power line and cable line and me with metal roof rake.
We are living like terrorists and threat of death if you walk outside of your house.

"Living like terrorist "Victims". correction. The electrical issue is freaking me out. Was on metal ladder clearing snow. ALWAYS been the rule ok to touch cable line but watch your but around the main line coming into house. Touched cable line and street light freaked out. Main power line and cable line are tight against wet ever growing cherry tree. Power rep said it sounds like insulation on their line has worn thru from tree and that making connection in wet conditions. She had me on the line for 20 minutes saying "backyard is off limits" not walkway, not anything. 😞
My ebay stuff's out there in the back building!

best vintage - you know I would do the same without question - no regrets. I was able to take information animal control gave me about this "serial dog poisoner" that shows possible transportation method. This sounds obsure, but freaky enough, it leads a line right to the sleaze part of town. I'm hoping to be the one to bust this guy. Animal control officer said they didn't notice this "obvious" link on where this guy may be next... says the sico's always one step ahead and will turn new info over to the investigations unit immed. Yea, we'll see. If not, I have some old timer Hells Angles buddies that owe me one.
Anyway, I believe ingesting rat poison is a ligit expectation once he is caught.

True justice. The punishment fits the crime.

If we had that system... we would eliminate much of the prison repeats/overcrowding. Would feel relaxed and secure in knowing that our justise system was taking care of us.... lol. Goonight!

You need a fiberglass ladder, that will not conduct electricty.
But even then, doing this roof stuff when it is wet is not good, just from the slipping side.
Never use a power line as a hand hold.
The power co. saying 3-4 days, and stay out of the yard is bull feathers.
They should be on this now, this is a hazzard, not just to you but to the power workers also.
If the insulation has rubbed off... that is a direct to ground connection.
and with water... they could blow out the entire grid, and kill power to half the city.
Glad you are safe, but electricity is not to be messed with, it stings and kills.
The dog situation... there are some in this world who are just sick... real sick.
I hope they find them, and throw away the key.
anyone who would hurt an animal.... well they revoke their claim to be human...

@stonevintage, @sockmonkeydave
Agreed to all of the above by Sock Monkey. Power Company should already be on premisis for fix actions.
I have heard of several of these "incidents" of rat poisoning/ground beef last couple months...ever since that mini series aired..."Mr. Mercedes" and I expect more will happen in near future. Lots of Sickos and wanna be copy cats with No Life.
Glad it looks like your girl gonna be Ok!

They are cowards. Anyone who victimizes innocent animals, preys on children or bullies and takes advantage of the elderly are cowards. I have zero respect for cowards, and even lower than zero respect for cowards who victimize, bully and take advantage simply because they can.

Since it's transferring power to the cable line, I would call the cable company, since it may take out a lot of cable boxes, not to mention the danger of having 220 or 440 volts running through it.
They can get the power company out there faster.

I am so glad your Baby Girl is okay and please stay safe. As I was reading your post, I started to tear up 😞 We had a storm years back that my sister almost was killed w/falling live wires 😞 It has been mild here in Northern New Jersey.
I hope they apprehend the creep that attempted to harm your baby - there is a special place in H*ll for people like that. I think that is what happened to my brother's dog 😞 I hope I'm making sense - coffee has not kicked in yet

Wow on all of that! Your shepherd is gorgeous, I love those dogs, have never had one, but always wanted one. I'm glad she's okay, and that you caught it (so the force was somewhat with you there!).
Hopefully the power thing will be cleared up soon, did you get a big dump of snow recently? Knock on wood, we haven't had any... yet. But I think we have a storm coming through on Thursday with a bunch. I was pleased that we held off through most of December so far!
I know it's a drag, but please, listen to what they say and stay away from your yard. Hopefully, they will be there within the time frame that they said and get it taken care of. No one wants you wielding a light saber in the form of a metal rake in your back yard!
Stay safe, and keep a close eye on your fur baby.

@stonevintage I'm so sorry your beautiful dog is suffering. This isnt something that is easily or quickly overcome!
Our little pup ingested the same poison due to the natural cycle of wildlife eats, poops, and the next creature repeats it. How could you know it was intentional, though?
The vet treated our dog with activated charcoal and Vitamin K. Our sweet boy still has residual medical issues. Make sure to follow the treatment plan and follow up blood panels.
The containers of small blue mouse pellets were removed from the market.
