I am leaving tomorrow to attend a trade show and buy my beginning stock for 2018, I'll be gone a week. In preparation I put my eBay stores on full vacation and ended all the listings on my non-store accounts several days ago. On one of my store accounts I have about 200 listings that have Best Offer on them.
Lo and behold, I am still getting offers on those items! I thought they were not visible to buyers! It's possible that the buyers had put these items on their watch lists, but even then, I didn't think they could make offers on them. I am going through them and changing the "accept" level to one cent under the listing price, but even so they could still be purchased. I could remove the BO from most of them, but I have other things to do before I go. And any of them that have had previous offers, which means a lot of them, you cannot remove the PO. I would have to end and relist them. Too much work for the amount of time I have.
I'll just take my chances I guess, but I thought I'd let y'all know.

Are you using the hide option? is this one checked?
Keep people from buying your fixed price listings while you're on vacation. Your auction style listings will still run as scheduled
when checked that one clearly says:
This seller is currently away, and is not processing orders at this time. You can add this item to your watch list to purchase later.

Yes, if I have an item of yours in my watched list, even if you hide it, I can still see and bid or do a best offer on it.

Yes, I have them in "hide" mode, and they do have that message on them. However, they do have auto-accept amounts.
However, just since I posted this thread, I received another offer on one item of the amount of my acceptance, and it was not automatically accepted. I was able to decline it and send a message to the potential buyer. The odd thing is, I've had that happen before when my store was not on vacation. I just figured it was a glitch.
I've done this before, meaning I've put the store on full vacation, listings hidden, and have never had a Best Offer come through.
I will have my laptop - my phone is too old to use the app -so I can deal with it, I just don't want a bunch of late shipping dings.

Hi, Tyler, Brian, and Doug: Can you help here?
Someone stated in Chat that the Help pages have been updated but some have checked their store settings and they have not been revised. Could you guys help? Sellers have had problems with this for a long time, unless they totally end the listings, they are vulnerable to problems.
Thank you and sorry to bother you; your help is appreciated!

IMO, you should have just removed the auto accept and let the offer expire. Other than receiving an item not as described, there is NOTHING that makes a buyer more irate than doing what you did.

Yep. I thought about it for a while and ended up removing the auto-accept portion of the Best Offer completely. At least I can then communicate with anyone who makes an offer and let them know that I cannot accept because I can't ship.

I don't have a store, but when I went out of town for a week recently, I used the bulk edit feature on several accounts to change handling time from 2 to 10 days. Maybe try that on your non-store listings?
