Amazon stock high 7/21 $180/share

Ebay stock high 10/21 $80/share

Etsy Stock high 11/21 $294/share

Amazon now $105/share

Ebay now $46/share

Etsy now $104/share

and to hear sellers say they r having no sales issues on other platforms? Really, then I commend you for having the right merchandise and you win but the rest of us are struggling just like the 3 companies above.

So explain how it is possible for one platform to drive away their customers when the other platforms are in the same boat? Statistics do not lie. Etsy has taken a bath based on the above. Lastly, if u r a seller and do not follow statistics, as simple as above, then u really need to investigate further before bashing the Bay. Maybe there are some issues but looking at the above its not pretty all the way around the platforms.

So, some companies split their stock at certain periods of time...Amazon did it..20 for 1 stock split back in March...Remember when it was worth $2,785.58 a share...

Well, you're comparing the stock market to reality, the stock market is influenced by many other factors than just the price and that's the reality.

Agreed. The fact of the matter is that sales are off that's the major point. It's not just algorithms changing everything. It's a conglomeration of different factors but bottom line, sales are down.

correct but their share price is down and its effecting their gross revenues. None of these stocks have split during the timeframe I mentioned.

Sales fluctuate but if you look at yearly sales and see a drop of 50%, then it's a concern.

Comparing stock prices is meaningless.  You need to compare financials such as earnings per share.

As @12345jamesstamps mentioned, Amazon stock did split 20-1 on June 6, 2022, which is after the 2021 prices you quoted. Just before the split the stock traded for $2785.58. After the split it traded for $139.38 so it is down about $34 since the split.

My bad was thinking 2020 on the split. One correction, the current price charts reflect the split before and after, therefore as stated the high for Amazon was roughly $180. Adding the split 20 X $180 would have been $3,600. Basically, no matter how one looks at this all the platforms are done due to sales and earnings. My point is that it's not one issue on a platform there are a number of factors that enter into this slow down.

What does stock price have to do with sales?

And I have long thought that Ebay vs. Amazon was like comparing apples to rutabagas. Their differences so far outweigh their similarities that I don't bother trying to draw conclusions from how one is faring vs. the other. I am way more concerned about the success or failure of the platform that I am actually selling on - which is here.

Considering there are multiple posts daily about slow sales etc. the above coupled with qtr. earning from each of those 3 companies specifically addresses the lack of sales. It's not just the Bay that is having issues it verifies the overall state of the economy. Sales have slowed period.
