Sold, now what?

I sold my boat on ebay.  I am happy with the buyer and the amount I will receive.  Since it was "as, where is," I cannot use the escrow.  We decided that we would meet.  I will give him the signed title and he will give me a cashier's check.  I cannot find anywhere on eBay that tells me how to pay them.  I have no problem doing that, but how?  How can I get in touch with someone to explain this to me, or someone who can explain this to me?

Pay who? Ebay? You will be billed thru your account.

Tells you how to pay who?  You're the seller, you're the one getting paid.  You're going to have to clarify this before I can address it.  Regarding the cashier's check, most members I know would recommend that you accept only cash.  Those checks can be forged... these days it isn't even difficult.

Seems like OP is wanting to know how he will pay eBay the fees for selling his boat.

You are going to meet.  Why would he give you a cashier's check?  Doesn't make sense.  Ask for cash only.  No checks.

A real cashier's check is better than a real personal check, but a forged cashier's check is just as worthless as a forged personal check.

I am talking about how to pay ebay.  I understand the concerns about cashiers checks.  I know who the buyer is, where he works and frankly, the boat is big and isn't going to be launched any time before the check clears, so I feel comfortable with this.     I will think about this though.  It looks like they will bill me through my account, then I just pay that?

Yes. In fact, they're going to bill you regardless of whether the boat is successfully sold at the agreed-upon price, so your question will be answering itself soon enough. 😁

Don't worry, Ebay will get paid! They will auto-deduct it from somewhere, depending on what system you sold it under.

Cash,

not cashiers check due to it could be a fake.

Learn to recognize fake cash also.

Make sure to get a q code for the pickup, and enter it so it shows the item was delivered: also a receipt of receipt of merchandise is needed to cover you...

Once you get your money. What you need to do is obvious...

You sold your boat on ebay and have no idea how ebay gets it's cut?

I dare ask if you know what ebay will be charging you?

I don't know anyone that carries around $22,100.00 in cash. Call me paranoid but I would be looking over my shoulder if someone paid me that way!

I would feel safe with a bank to bank (wire) transfer, which ebay allows.
