Sold items I didn't sell - HELP!

All of a sudden, I had a ton of purses show up on my 'sold' account!  I don't sell purses - I sell Pokemon cards!  I am very confused and nervous.  I am getting in contact with eBay, but does anyone know what on earth the reason for this could be??  I am changing my password, etc now just in case, but I don't know what else to do until I contact eBay.

Thank you!

Ebay will deactivate the listing once you get to talk to them. I saw there were 7 sales afterwards. The hijacker redirected the funds through the listing with a different email address than yours. Good thing you caught it so quickly. What a nightmare. I'm sorry

Re: Sold items I didn't sell - HELP!

looks like your account was hijacked, the price for a MK purse is way too low. How many sold, can you tell? It looks like just one from your completed listings. Change all passwords associated with Ebay, Paypal, and even your bank account to be safe. If you have the same password for another site, I'd be cautious and change those too.

I agree.

Just as important, call eBay Trust and Safety and report the hijacking.

The scammer who stole your account is not going to be shipping anything and your account is about to be swamped by Claims.

Get on this immediately.

Seven purses; they all say 'Payment was initiating on (date) and is being processed through Paypal.  I checked my Paypal info on here and all is correct; no weird transactions to my PP account.  I am on hold with eBay.  One person contacted me asking why they couldn't pay with credit card.  I told them not to pay was my account was hijacked.

I canceled the purse listing - they had 180+ available for purchase! I'm just so confused.

Re: Sold items I didn't sell - HELP!

Thank you! I'm glad I caught it so quickly as well. The only reason I did was because I sold some stuff this morning so I was going to check and see if more sold. I was so excited when I was 8 listings sold...then this. I just hope I can get eBay on the phone; still on hold. Can't complain, though. At least I caught it fast.

I've never tried, but I hear you can get a quick response through Facebook or Twitter versus being on hold with Ebay forever

Re: Sold items I didn't sell - HELP!

I found the hijacker's email by going to the ended listing for the purses. Definitely NOT my email. I saved the email address; I don't think it'll help, but might as well. In addition, the item location was in NC; I live in TX.

Contacted eBay and they said they'd be removing all of the listings/contacting buyers/etc. Yay! I'm calling PayPal now. Will update you all when this is sorted through.

Be sure to use change all your passwords if you use the same one multiple places. Also you can enable 2 factor authentication to help further protect your account.

Re: Sold items I didn't sell - HELP!

Because of post like this I have been keeping an eye on my account. I haven't sold anything for a while so until I read about others with same issue, had not even looked at my sold section to see if anything hinky was going on. Thanks

You would be well advised to change any and all "sensitive" password, not just eBay and PayPal.

It's most likely you are a victim of a phishing scam that would only get your eBay/PayPal info but it's also possible you have keylogger/malware that could have collected other non-eBay related account names and passwords.

In either case, if you have used the same password in multiple locations then all of those could be potentially compromised.
