Sold an item a few weeks ago. Buyer lives relatively close and buyer wont respond to any messages.

I posted an item to the buyer a few weeks ago with standard shipping (no tracking) and it was meant to take 1-2 days to ship. Its been a few weeks now and I've messaged the buyer since then but they won't respond. The money is on hold in paypal and has been like that for a few weeks now. Not sure what to do, any advice?

That had nothing to do with it.

Without tracking, the funds were held for 21 days.

Have a great day.

UPDATE: Money just went off hold in my paypal and I have access to the funds, I suspect the buyer was trying to pull some sort of scam as why would a parcel that should arrive to this guys house in 1-2 days take 3 weeks? Also, I recently filled out a missing parcel form for the item so I guess the post office contacted him some how and he just decided to finally pay me. Definitely only using tracked shipping from now on to avoid these potential scams.

If it works the same in your country as in the US,  this isn't how it works.  The buyer paid before you shipped.  Paypal puts a hold in newish sellers to make sure it goes smoothly.  The hold is normally 21 days unless tracking shows delivery sooner.  You had no tracking, so the hold went the full time before being released.   You were told this in earlier posts.  They didn't say the buyer hadn't paid you.

This is a rather misleading post to mark as the solution by blaming your buyer.

I did say 'potential' scams.

Then again he did stop replying to my messages, & earlier posts said I'd have to refund the full amount if the buyer filed an INR past the 21 day mark. In the end I got my money, I assume the buyer got their item, & I learned my lesson to always use tracked shipping, so I'm at ease now.
