Hello Community,
The past 3 days 12 of 17 sold items have been relisted. I just happened to be updating some listings and noticed. What can I do about this? Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks - Lewis Clan Collectors

Yes, this has happened to both my stores sporadically on various occasions for a long time. Many others have also reported this eBay glitch for years. To make matters worse, sellers get dinged for not having the item to ship.

All you can do is end the listings.

this is not a glitch, it is a change eBay made years ago to make all BIN listings automatically relist every 30 days. if u don't want them to relist, u have to manually end them b4 the 30 day period.
u need to enable the out of stock option to show multiples of items on a listing are sold out

I am a bit confused on your explanation. The OP said the items had "sold" and then relisted. Are you saying that if you make a listing you have say 10 of and you sell one in that 30 days when it relists automatically, it reverts back to the 10 available instead of 9? That is the only way I could see this happening unless I am not understanding.

I'm a bit confused to. None of the sold items were listed with multiple quantities. The were all one-of-one, an oil pan, shoes, card, etc. The other 5 of the 17 did not relist and we have sold around 75 items a month for the past few months and this has never happened before.
I don't believe I need to manually do anything to stop this from happening. It really seems like a glitch. Oh, what is a bin? I've never heard of that. Thanks so much! LCC

@lewisclancollectors your listings should have ended once u were oos. if u have the oos option applied, it will relist but be invisible to buyers, showing zero in stock so that u may possibly add that same item back into the listing should u get more.
and sorry, yes, your listings that had only one item should have ended once it was sold.
BIN is Buy it Now as opposed to an Auction listing
To create a multi-quantity listing with the new listing tool.
If all your items are the same, tell us how many you have and we'll keep track of the quantity as they're sold. The listing will end when you run out of inventory, unless you've turned on the 'out of stock' option.

Hi Lewis Clan Collectors,
You're not alone; many of us have experienced items relisting without intention. Here's a quick fix:
Check Settings: Review your account settings for automatic relisting.
Contact Support: Reach out to platform support for guidance and check if others have the same issue.
Manual Monitoring: Keep an eye on listings and manually unlist any affected items.
Record Details: Maintain a record of affected items and dates.
Stay Updated: Watch for platform updates on known issues.
Hope this helps you resolve the problem!

For the oil pan and the shoes, they were both listed with the out-of-stock option, which means that when the quantity goes to zero (with the first sale, in this case) the listing stays active with a quantity of zero for up to 180 days, or until the seller either ends the listing, or updates the quantity.
Oil pan: https://www.ebay.com/itm/394883140149
Shoes: https://www.ebay.com/itm/394920723921
So, they were both sold on Oct 10, which made the quantity zero for each of them, then you ended them this morning, Oct 14. Those two listings were not relisted, they just didn't end when the (last) item was sold, because of the out of stock option. More info:
So, not a glitch, it looks like just a misunderstanding of how the out-of-stock option works.
Oh, FYI, BIN = buy it now.

GREAT explanation @lacemaker3 😍

The "ghost" listings I have had were never found in my store, just on the site, so checking inventory, etc., would have done no good. It happens only once in a while, though. If one is having that many relists appearing in your listings, then I think @lacemaker3 's explanation is probably the right one

2 things I caught myself doing.....
1. Check and make sure you do not have the OOS (Out of Stock) option selected.
https://www.ebay.com/uas/selling-pref
(this sample is 'active')
2. IF you use sell similar, make sure you are not copying a listing that had "multiples" and there is a stray number in the inventory box.....
this is from a random listing "sell similar" that had multiple items available and I missed seeing that on the listing page)
"...this is not a glitch, it is a change eBay made years ago to make all BIN listings automatically relist every 30 days. if u don't want them to relist, u have to manually end them b4 the 30 day period..."
I never noticed this...does this apply to OOS options that you do not refill before the 30 days?
...carry on....

Lacemaker3 & Stuff4Divas- Thank you for the help. And thanks for answering, Bali5005 .
Out-of-stock-option. I'm not familiar with it, nor do I recall using it. I presume it was inadvertently selected, but it's odd since the occurrences all happened over the last 3 days.
When checking active listings how do I know if the listing isn't visible to buyers? I ended the affected (in my eyes relisted) items that hold sold because they were in my active listings.
Will I need to manual go through all 450 listings to check if the out of stock option has been selected? And, is there an out of stock option when creating listings, because I do not recall that.
Is this something can be manually turned off for all our listings?

Okay, I followed the link and deselected the "listings stay active when out of stock." That should do it, correct?

You're welcome, @lewisclancollectors.
You can identify listings like that by looking for the quantity = 0, zero. Listing with a quantity of zero are not visible to buyers.
If you have turned off the out-of-stock option, that should do it for future listings. I'm not sure if it will affect current listings, so you should keep an eye on this.
