I've hardly ever had a cancellation request until recently, and now it seems to be every other day.
Usually I haven't shipped yet which is a miracle given eBay's push to ship asap after payment, but the one tonight already shipped this morning.
How long before they start holding these against us as well when (like returns) they encourage them?

You might consider extending your handling time to avoid shipping and then receiving a cancellation request.

Wait, how can someone pay for something and then cancel it, I thought that was impossible?!

I does appear to be happening more frequently in 2018.
More so than it has, for me at least, compared to the past years that preceded this one.

They can REQUEST a cancellation. This wasn't one of the official "within an hour" ones, just came through messaging.

Most calcellations are ebay self induced. Next time you have one search completed listings for like item and you'll see the one the buyer actually bought after they backed out of yours ebay shows them the cheaper items once they've made a purchase...

If you search completed Smooth Moves Juking Jamming you'll see a first hand example of it in action..

They're better than returns as long as you catch them before they ship.
As long as Ebay allows returns, the earlier in the process the transaction is stopped, the better.

Personally I'd prefer the buyer just didn't hit the freaking buy button.

Its just ebay gaming the system. Last week I was searching for a item only 10 shown in search I purchhased it for $75.00 when invoice arrived there were three more linked to the invoice email and they were $35.00 or less. They weren't shown in search just shown in the GOTCHA SUCKER ebay invoice....

Sellers as well as buyers are just tired of ebays carnival sideshow tactics and they wonder why they are struggling attracting sellers and buyers...
