Did you mean:

So not only did eBay raise the price of their tape.

It's about half as thick. Tape from dollar tree is thicker than this new stuff.

I'm spoiled.

I will only use Scotch 3M packing tape.

I stock up on i when it goes on sale at Costco.

I don't even bother with the eBay tape, it's overpriced and not worth it, even with the shipping supplies coupon. One thing I have noticed about the prices is that they keep going up so that if you want to use your entire coupon, you have to add money with it.

For tape, you are way better off just dropping 40 bucks or so on a 36 pack of at least 2mm thick 110yds tape. It will last you more than enough time to justify it, even if you sell a fair volume.

The fact that eBay's shipping supplies are not very competitive should suprise no one.

Re: So not only did eBay raise the price of their tape.

I  used to be nuts about my tape.especially if it was supposed to be clear

clear tape is not yellowed and a full roll can be seen right thru to read the printing on the roll

I have never mesures  the thickness of my tape but I have done it numerous time to make sure my

bags are correct

a case of bags and a case of tape are both quite heavy when they are 2 mil

2 mil bags are supposed to be .002 of an inch

I used to thnk it was metric or microns but its inches

I learned this by going to the plastic bag makers association because I got fed up with thin bags that were advertised as 2 mil but were actually much thinner

if you take 10 bags and measures them together at the bag bottom it shpoud measures.040 inches

OK, looks like you figured out dollar tree is a better deal. That is how most buyers shop including those shopping on Ebay. Always go for the better deal unless your pockets are overflowing with cash.

Would not buy any of their offerings if not for the $25 free credit.

Re: So not only did eBay raise the price of their tape.

I wouldn't want ebay logo'd anything. I am the seller and shipper, not them.

As with all supplies (mailers, labels, tape, everything), cost and quality are the concern. Not advertising for a company that does very little of that for us...

People go to ebay to search for stuff, though.  I don't think anyone would find and buy my stuff otherwise.

I don't care, free is free. I have about 100 rolls of the ebay tape. Works great, and it's FREEEEE!!

I was in the same boat.  Back when I got $50 per quarter I bought a lot of tape.  After a few months I realized that I could resell the free tape.  Now I have less than twenty rolls.  I seldom use the ebay tape but I use a whole bunch of the small sized bubble envelopes.  The logo gets covered up by the half sheet label.  😁

Agree if it is free. The OP's title said they raised the price so the OP must not be getting the tape for free.

Re: So not only did eBay raise the price of their tape.

The eBay tape isn't as thick as the tape I typically buy, but as it's semi-free, I wrap it across the seam to seal it and continue all the way around the box so it ends up sticking to itself. All of my boxes seem to arrive okay.

As to advertising eBay, IMO, it has two benefits. Am I happy with everything here? No. But I have fewer problems here than selling on Amazon. If someone sees an eBay branded box or bag and it reminds them to go to eBay to look for something, it helps us all. Second, it's a kind of insurance against porch pirates. If there are boxes on someone's porch from eBay, Amazon, Target, and Bed Bath and Beyond, which boxes are porch pirates likely to grab? If you grab a box from the other three vendors, you're very likely to find a new item inside, and one that's easy to resell. If you grab an eBay box, you might get a new item or you might get a used car part or some used CDs.

Re: So not only did eBay raise the price of their tape.

Sorry but I think that porch pirate's logic is flawed. Re the eBay marked box. They don't care what/how the box is marked, they just grab, and might be more likely to grab the eBay box, because likely it could contain untraceable re-sellable high priced cool goods.
