Hi-
There have been at least a dozen posts or more concerning the sneaker authentication program on Ebay. Anything from "Ebay says they're fake" to "Ebay says they're fake, sent them back to me and all I got back was an empty box." It really needs to be addressed. Grant it the people who authenticate are "sneakerheads" but who knows how credible these people are...You can go to the top of this page and type in sneaker authentication and there is a lot to read concerning.
Have a great evening.

There is nothing you can do about it.
There are lots of stories about the authenticity program.

Thank you. They had the box / looked great. Tennis shoes. I have not gotten them back yet. Just find it hard to believe someone goes to that much trouble on a inexpensive tennis shoe in size 12 a unpopular size to make a knockoff.

Ty Janet. One thing we can do / is not sell sneakers on eBay. I don’t want customers buying shoes under $100 having to wait weeks for this especially now as holiday shipping will push out deliveries. Not sure I believe the process works flawlessly.

Yes! I exclusively wear Asics for walking shoes (and I walk a LOT) but the authentication program has kept me from buying them on eBay any longer. I change out shoes every 6-8 weeks so I try to reorder just in time before the previous pair wears out. With eBay's authentication program butting in I can no longer count on a timely delivery. I am buying these shoes direct from Asics so there is never an issue with authenticity. EBay was my go-to site for discontinued styles in order to save $$$. The extra savings aren't worth the headaches due to longer delivery times so now I purchase directly from Asics or through Amazon.

You can bypass the authentication program entirely by listing the shoes as "customized". I suggest throwing in an extra pair of laces for the customization.
The service won't be free forever anyway and once it starts costing real money the buyers will not want to pay for it on lower dollar shoes.

So I was just emailed reason my authentication failed. Said label missing on box. Funny I have pics on the listing with the correct label. A mistake that wasted the buyers time and my time and money. Told me to relist tennis’s sneakers as without box.

Looks like the sticker was peeling off in your listing pictures. Is it possible that it came off in shipping?

Just got reason. Label (which was on the box ) was missing from box is their rejection reason. Advised me to relist just the shoes. My label was In All my listing pics. What are they ripping off the label? Livid.

So the shoe was not denied as counterfeit. That's good
It may not be returned with your box...someone at the authentication center could have swapped the box out. Just make sure when you receive your item back that everything is yours.

Also this...
LISTINGS where the delivery is local pick up...... It does not say PURCHASES ...in theory......following ebay policy rules....... if you have local pick up on your listing then it would not be eligible for the authenticity service. You can still ship.

eBay owns the Sneaker Con Authentication Business.
eBay bought them back in Nov 29, 2021.

There have been many outlet stores who sell counterfeits. We've had two different ones get busted in the last few years.

that I got at Nike outlet in a marked box, were not authentic...
If you got them from AEW's tag team known as The Young Bucks, then you might have a chance at getting genuine Nike's. Put 'em up for auction starting at $0.99 next time, trouble avoided.
