Slow sales - I think eBay needs to advertise on TV with more commercial ads for clothing resalers!

I would love to see eBay run some commercials for us resale sellers.  I have seen commercials for these other sites on TV like the Real Real and others.

For example: they should show someone wearing out their favorite pair of jeans and they love them so much that they wish they could find that same brand/style again but the jeans are from 5 years ago.  She taps on her eBay app and Boom! There they are, her favorite jeans. Now she can be happy again. Or a young person who wants a pair of expensive sneakers but Mom says "No, those are way too expensive, look on eBay" and just like that, he finds them for 1/2 price.

What about that kind of stuff?

People need to be reminded that we sell awesome stuff for cheap! Just saying!

I haven't seen any ads since Christmas of 2016. They must just be running on the same channel over and over. Maybe they should be spread out a little.

He probably has and it is such a poor ad, it just didn't register.

One of ebay's biggest problems when it comes to advertising - it does nothing to register on a viewers consciousness, everything is totally forgetable.  The ads have no hook, no entertaining value, and nothing that ebay can brand and use again and again.

And when they do stumble on something that they can build on, ebay gives it no time or chance to develop and dumps it after one try for something else because ebay seems to expect instant results with minimal effort.

Thank you! I wish I could get the "higher-ups"  to let me pitch them some "real folks" commercial ideas.  I feel like the advertisers they pay to come up with ideas try TOO hard and miss the whole point. It's REAL consumers who know what a good idea looks like. We are the ones who watch TV and are basically immune to commercials because we are bombarded with them all the time. But certain ones hit home and I think getting feedback from their sellers and real customers would be wise.  Thanks for your encouraging words!

Obviously I think they should advertise equally for all the categories. I was speaking to what I sell. What ideas do you have for your categories?

Just read online that EBay may be giving more exposure to liberals than conservatives.

Well well well

As a Christian Socialist*, I wonder how I will be exposed.

They supposedly  do. At least thats why that took all our percentage breaks (from top rated sellers after we worked out butts off the get them) so they could pay for advertising. Not sure why they couldn't pay for it theirselves. I think we already pay enough. Now they have the promoted listing options for a rediculous fee. We should have that anyway without having to pay that ( HAVE YOU SEEN THE PRICES THEY WANT TO CHARGE?) What the freak?  Ebay has gotten so greedy.

Not the mention the 3 changes they feel they have to come up with ever so often. They need new leadership and someone to look out for the sellers.
