Skipping authentication

The buys has asked to skip the authenticator so it can arrive in time.   Will I get in trouble if I ship straight to them?  Are there penalties from ebay?   The buyer asked and I can't change the shipping g address or skip authenticaor

Skipping authentication

No, EBAY has determine that item must go to authenticator.    Going to authentication is protect you and the customer (otherwise customer can claim "not as described").

Doesn't make sense that a customer would purchase designer clothing and NOT want it authenticated.  Scammers try to get "rush shipments" and go around the rules.

There are many scams going around on EBAY.   Scammers target anyone selling "high value items".   EBAY will NOT protect you if you get scammed.

Are there penalties from ebay?

Yes, the terms state:

If buyer or seller circumvent or do not comply with Sections 7.a or 7.b of these Terms, or if buyer or seller violate or are found to be non-compliant with the Terms, eBay reserves the right to take immediate action such as, but not limited to, account restriction or suspension and/or the transfer of fees and costs associated with Authenticity Guarantee

Also, you will have no seller protection if you ship straight to them off-site & will likely be scammed. It's a terrible idea.

I hope you saw the replies here @meversmann and either shipped to authenticators or worked with the buyer on a buyer-requested cancellation if the timing didn't work for them.

If you ship direct to the buyer, then they file a non-receipt claim, you will be forced to refund them in full even if you have tracking with delivery confirmation. Shipping to any address that's not on the order forfeits all seller protections.

You are just setting yourself up to lose the product and the money!

Think about it. Sounds like a scam in the making.

Might want to check your buyer's profile. How long an eBay member? Location? check all feedback history.

He may not want authentication so when he receives the item he can file a not as described case, and send you back a box of rocks, be careful.

i ended up cancelling the item and relisted.  The buyer wanted the dress before a certain date and wanted to skip.  After thinking about it i told her i would cancel unless she wanted it to go to authentication.  She did not so i cancelled it.  thank you for all of you feedback and advice.
