Why don't I see anyone that is happy or behind this new GTC policy . All I see is removal of anything that should be taken in account when deciding on this new policy. Stop this so I can control my store. I pay for it every month. I do not want to be charged for something I don't want to be charged for. The new policy even contradicts your own policy. SHow these sellers that want GTC....if there really are any....

Like most eBay policy changes in recent history, they are not done to please eBay sellers but to improve eBay profits.
eBay executives MUST continue to show profit growth in order to keep their jobs, and they have chosen to milk the existing seller base for that increased profit rather than taking steps to grow the business.

I've been listing GTC for a while, mostly because it used to take hours to renew all my listings -- I hated that.
I figure there is a profitable use for those hours. Say three hours =how much income to you??
you figure it out.
Even more importantly -- I used to make mistakes when re-listing manually. Sometimes I would take a break, come back and skip an item so it would not get relisted.
I found "forgotten" items like these which had not been listed for months.
I am looking for one of them now, that got forgotten a long time ago and is not listed but I know I still still have it..
Also -- you can make a mistake and re-list an item twice -- I did that and it caused me a lot of trouble.
Or maybe you are too smart to make such mistakes, but I evidently was not.
Maybe ebay makes a little more money from my GTC listings but I think I do too.

The new "GOOD TIL CANCEL" program will generate a $1,000,000,000.00 (A BILLION) in unnecessary and negligently explained fees each month to sellers. It will generate millions of phone calls to customer service from consiencious sellers impacted. Millions of other sellers who don't have spreadsheets keeping track of things will make less and less money and will simply quit the platform. It will generate more work on the part of sellers to avoid being over charged. It will force buyers to wait to buy items if more than one person wants it. Sellers will not use "Buy it Now", and that business will go to Amazon or elsewhere!

So far, so good for me...I like it. Started changing over my listings on March 1st. I have had to make some adjustments with my listing schedule to allow myself time in case I decide to end listings before they renew. That messed with my "mojo" a little...but I have already adapted and life goes on.
My items are already starting to show up on the first page of Google shopping. Previously when I searched Google Shopping, none of my items were ever on the first page and that is as far as I would go. I have no idea, at this point, if showing up on Google will drive sales, but I can not see any reason that it would hurt my sales.

The one good thing about eBay's new Good Till Cancelled policy is that if you die, your items will still be relisted on eBay. LOL!

I don't like this change... I tried using the GTC option once, but didn't like the fact that it used my "free" monthly listings when it automatically relisted the items. I work full time and usually only list on the weekends. I want the control to relist what I want and when I want without now having to monitor my fixed listings so I don't get charged the extra fee or "lose" my free monthly listings on these GTC relists. I usually use my free monthly's for new listings. This will take away from my profits or force me to subscribe to a store so I have more "free" monthly listings.

I'm still waiting for ebay to tell us how it helps our sales as they're promoting the decision. I can make a list of how it hurts sales with the main two being:
1. Buyers no longer feel pressured to buy the item within 30 days and now can wait months before buying it ... if ever.
2. Buyers will now see your item at the very bottom of their Searches ... if they even reach that far down when looking.
That definitely does not help sales.

I've used GTC for years so it doesn't effect me at all.
Like another poster mentioned, I got tired of having to relist items every 30 days.
With GTC, you can spend more time listing, then relisting.

If your items go unseen by many potential buyers, then what's the point in being here? You're only currently selling a percentage of what you should be selling.

I don,t like it either E-Bay has too much control on the sellers we should be able to choose how long we want the listing on ebay i would list my item for 30 days if no sale then 10 after that pull it now have to keep track of when i listed it. Return policy also sucks. To me ebay dose not care about their sellers

It may work for you and that is great, the OPTION should be there as it was before, not be forced upon us. My profit margin is very small and after book relists twice I am paying to sell it. Since the implementation of this GTC policy I have been switching to 10 day auctions (that somehow keep changing to 7 days after listed) anyway I have had 4 auction sales that have ended in past couple weeks and 1 has paid and 1 went to resolutions center and should be available back to me to relist today and final value credit and another will go to resolution center today for non payment and the other is still waiting to be paid but only ended yesterday so I am hopeful they will pay. I switched to Fixed Listings because on non paying buyers a year ago, and am now having the same problem. I am going to have to cut my approximate 300 listing down to maybe 100 now and will not be able to run any listing toward the end of the month as I only use the free listings because I like to try to make .50 on a book. So if buyers do not pay when winning auctions and fewer listings how is eBay going to make more money from me? Not going to, yes I know they only may $40-$50 a month off of me now, but soon that will be maybe $20. Were is there extra profit there? I am sure I am not the only small seller having the same problem.
