Good Day!
I'm hoping someone may have some feedback on the following.
Newbie here with little to no experience shipping outside USA.
My husband and I are seniors on a very fixed income and we cannot afford
to have a package go missing. With USA orders, tracking is part of the shipping cost.
How can I safely mail to Canada at a reasonable rate and have tracking provided?
When I go to list an item I don't see an option for "ebay international shipping" (where the package
gets delivered to a hub so you are automatically covered).
Did this option go away? Please advise if it is worth it to mail to Canada and what's the best way?
Thanks for any feedback and hope you have a nice week ahead. 🙂

How can I safely mail to Canada at a reasonable rate and have tracking provided?
The (eIS) eBay International Shipping program provides tracking, seller protections and you don't have to fiddle with creating Export Declarations.
1. Log in and go to Account Settings https://accountsettings.ebay.com/uas
2. Choose “Shipping Preferences” https://www.ebay.com/ship/prf
3. Next to eBay International Shipping, select “Enroll”.

Canada is part of the Universal Postal Union and has been since the Treaty was signed in 1874.
We have a $150 duty free allowance and a $40 tax free allowance for imports from the USA.
Canada has been the USA's largest trading partner for centuries.
While USPS and Canada Post are separate entities, they work quite smoothly together.
If you are ever shipping to Canada without the Seller Protections of the eIS program, scroll down to the bottom of the USPS services list to First Class International Package, which is the cheapest tracked service available for direct purchase, but which is somewhat hidden from the consumer.
Buying labels through eBay also gives you discounted rates.

As other posters have mentioned you can enroll in the EIS and ship to multiple countries through them. Or ship a package up to 4 lbs to Canada with usps first class international which does include tracking. First class does have tracking to some countries but not to all of them.

Thank you everyone for your helpful advice.
You have really helped my husband and me!
I was able to turn on the international shipping option via
selling preferences shipping to international.
The system indicates that it will automatically apply to all listings.
For future reference, does anyone happen to know is there a way to
turn the option off of one particular listing or by virtue of having it
in place, one must allow this option for all listings? Thanks again for
any feedback and hope you are having a nice day. 🙂

If you want to turn it off on a specific listing, I think that you have to go to your shipping exclusion list on the listing page and exclude countries other than the US.

As posted eIS is an all, or none set up , and has been posted you can "exclude" countries, but with eIS the thing is........................... once the item is processed at the hub eBay takes the heat from there on. Not received, damage, returns requests are handled by eBay. You may get notified is there is an issue, but eBay handles it.
eBay has also stated that we are protected from chargebacks. Bad feedback is supposed to also be removed, but as usual "eBay language" does not make it perfectly clear if that covers all aspects of the transaction.
Before eIS my selling was strictly to the USA , and to out of country buyers using a "freight forwarder". I excluded all other countries.
With the advent of eIS I have removed all restrictions that I had previously set.

i quit mailing outside the usa years ago. even inside the usa is open to scam artist. here is the facts. ebay has very little to no seller protection. inside the USA is your best bet.
