Shipping timeframe changed to 2 weeks in USA

Hello,

Someone posted this earlier...I took a peek at mine.

I am furious.....my shipping got changed on most of my items to 2 weeks shipping time frame in the USA. What the heck?

And these are just standard envelopes I mail in the USPS.

And will buyers buy from sellers where their item might take 2 weeks to get to?

Is this a hiccup again in eBay?

Hey @12345jamesstamps - can you go in to edit item # 266370172005 and check what handling time you have posted on the listing form?

If you use biz policies, what does that biz policy say?

The listing public-facing shows a 5 biz day handling time with estimated delivery Aug 28 - Sept 1 to CA, which is consistent with 5 day handling.

I've been harping about this for the past 6 wks.  Yes, this is awful -- have had several cancellations and sales are a bit down.   Have contacted cust serv and received several tickets , but no solution in 6 wks.  It's not even on the  report technical issues board even though I have asked for help.

This is from today: a ramos screenshot.jpg

What's the item number on that one @sassykzt ?

I looked at listing 185967251073 and it shows 2 biz day handling with estimated delivery to CA of Aug 31 - Sept 6 with "Standard Shipping" - so that part is accurate.

Can you open the order details and check to see what delivery estimate was shown to the buyer?

At this point, this looks like an issue with the ship-by date displaying in seller hub.

I found the other discussion:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Report-eBay-Technical-Issues/I-have-a-2-day-window-for-handling-time-i...

So as I said in my last post, this is not an issue with what buyers are seeing on listings, and probably not an issue with the EDD displayed on orders.

This is an issue with the ship-by date displaying on the Orders page in Seller Hub per the screenshots from @sassykzt . We've seen this issue before, it's usually short-lived.

FYI brian_burke@ebay see added context above. That should help with your report. Thanks!

Re: Shipping timeframe changed to 2 weeks in USA

So, I found out this through another seller complaining about the same thing today.

It is not every item. And after eBay heard about it some posting times did change. Per an eBay moderator.

Some sellers love this extended timeframe by the way.

Some of my items state " The seller has specified an extended handling time for this item".

Not on all the items for sale by the way.

This phase shows up in "handling" only and not on the actual item.

So I post like 50+ items at the same time using draft(s) which I have never ever changed....for the shipping which is like free shipping in the USA. I look over every thing before I post an item. Did not post anything for awhile.

Some postings say estimated delivery on September 6th.

@12345jamesstamps

James,

Is this only happening with the standard envelope shipping?

Re: Shipping timeframe changed to 2 weeks in USA

That order shipped on  8 / 22 , going from OH - FL via ground advantage takes 3 /4 days.  But look at the dates shown to the buyer is 9 days - 15 days.   This is after the label has been purchased.  So, even though I shipped same day and you added the 2 day handling period those delivery dates are off.   When I go the the USPS site and input the tracking #  the estimated delivery date is Sat. 8 /26.   But how many buyers are going to go out of their way and check the USPS site?   My biggest gripe is that I have had numerous cancellations due to these incorrect dates.  I can get past the incorrect nonsense on the seller hub page but I can't control that the buyer is seeing these extended delivery times and I'm losing sales on this platform.

Also , you are seeing standard shipping ( 1 - 9 days) in my listings but in my business policies all my shipping has ground advantage ( 2 - 5 days)  selected and won't update no matter what I do.  After chatting w/ agent  -- I was told to choose overnight  shipping 😟.

Re: Shipping timeframe changed to 2 weeks in USA

No...other seller sells big items with shipping cost.

The other seller complained today and has complained for 6 weeks now . And it looks like her posting got buried today. Ouch. I notice seller posting today and thought let me look at my items posted a while back...haven't posted anything lately. The other seller sells big items with shipping and I sell items free domestic shipping per USPS. Funny, I looked at some of your items and didn't notice it....lucky you so far.

As you might see I got an eBay moderator looking into it. Some of my items are normal shipping and some should be received by September 6th if purchased today domestically ...ha.

Some sellers stated this is normal due to the holiday coming up...ha

However, my items are like for different time frames for delivery...although all my items are free delivery in the USA with the no changes in shipping. How can shipping be changed for certain items shipped at the same time.

And it states in some of my handling time" The seller has specified an extended handling time for this item"...I don't even know how to do this...yet

Re: Shipping timeframe changed to 2 weeks in USA

We have the big moderators looking into it as well as eBay.

I am getting excuses but not a solution yet other than eBay looking into it.

Wonder who else has this problem.

Guess I won't be getting any sales now because of my big mouth.

you have 5 days handling...........so that would bring it to 8/28........  Labor day is 9/4......

Wouldn't 5 days handling bring it to the 30th? I have three-day handling and I'm not required to ship anything that sells today until next Monday, the 28th.

If you're referring to the green banner, that's not an error @dhbookds . I don't know if it's rolled out to all sellers yet, but eBay very recently released a label/QR code bundle. Personally I think it's great because it gives you the option - if your printer conks out you can bring the QR code to the PO and not worry about voiding the label. And if the PO can't scan the QR code (sometimes their scanners aren't working) you can find a way to print the label without having to void the QR.

Send me a PM @sassykzt . I'm good with biz policies and can probably help you figure out a fix to get GA on your listings.

Nope..........I'm referring to the "ship by Fri. 8/25"............when paid on 8/22, 1 day handling.........

Re: Shipping timeframe changed to 2 weeks in USA

I received a phone call from a US!!!!!! cust. serv rep over the weekend.  She was so amazing & kind!   Here's the solution:  Go into your "shipping preferences" ( Not shipping policies -- where one actually specifies their handling time).  Go to "Set same business day handling times" .  Once you open it by choosing to edit, you will see "Set your working days and cut-offs for same day dispatch" .   You have to set your working days & cut off time ( when you stop working and go to bed or have a drink in this case!) : Mon- Sun It is then when your handling time will be based on that.  For example if you choose M - F  w/ 5 days handling all items sold on Sat & Sun  will start 5 days from Mon., since you have chosen not to work on those days.  I chose everday but Sunday w/ 2 days handling time -- so items purchased on Sunday don't have to be shipped until Weds.   Now all my listings and everything is back to normal.

My thoughts:   This is so convoluted and NOT intuitive.  I never chose to do same day shipping so why would I think of editing it?  It's not until you  try to edit it that you see " set working days".  I never touched this before and I think there was some glitch in the coding that now tied all of this together.  If you have to set working days, then why not seperate it from shipping same day and it's cut off times.   In the help  portion of shipping for sellers there is no mention of having to set working days.  There is ONLY mention of it if one has same day shipping.  Another glitch:  if you choose the link on the help page to If you offer same-day handling( If you offer same-day handling, you can also set your handling time cut-offs - opens in new window or tab for more accurate delivery timeframes),  there is an error message from eBay 😠🙄.    But you can get there through : My eBay > Account > Selling > Shipping Preferences > Set same business day handling times >  Choose to edit this  > set your working days & cut off times no matter how many days you have chosen for your handling time.    Hope this works for you!   Thank you for commiserating with me through this whole ordeal.  If Deb hadn't called me I would have no hair left!

Funny thing now that all listings show a correct 2 day handling period:  the estimated delivery date shown  to buyers from West Coast ( CA, OR, WA etc....)  is Shipping out on Mon. 8 / 28 via Ground Advantage ( 2 - 5 days)  shows buyers a delivery date of 8 /30 - 8 /31  There is NO way a package can go from OH - CA in 2/3 days.  We can't win, can we?   It does change over to the correct estimate once I purchase the label.  I wish eBay could better sync w/ USPS in terms of showing delivery dates to buyers when they are looking.  I guess this is better than the 15 days!
