Shipping question on Yarn

Good Afternoon

There used to be a crafting section here, but I don't see it anymore.

Can any crafters/knitter/crocheters tell me if it would be acceptable to mail several skeins of yarn in a polly mailer as long as it is not overstuffed?  Or would you prefer to receive it in a box?

I picked up some nice yarn this weekend and want to mail it in the correct way so any buyer is happy

Thank you

Shipping question on Yarn

I do this often to save on shipping costs.  So far no complaints.

Shipping question on Yarn

I'd toss each skein into  the cheapest ziplock bag I could find and then throw them in poly bags for shipping.  That would help prevent tangling, sticking to the seal strip and any accidental water exposure.

Shipping question on Yarn

I ship large quantities in a box but small quantities in envelops.

Definitely agree you should put them into plastic bags first in case of moisture.

Shipping question on Yarn

My rule of thumb regarding using padded envelopes/poly mailers.

If it' ok being stepped on, it's ok to use a padded envelope/poly mailer.

I frequently buy yarn here Ziploc bag inside poly mailer works for me.

I think that would probably be fine, as it wouldn't be harmed if it got squished under something heavy.

Thank you all.  I just wanted to make sure the buyer wouldn't be upset if it did get squished/flattened during shipping and definitely intend to put in a ziplock first.
