Shipping an order to multiple addresses

I've only had one person ask me this in the past until this week I received three messages from different buyers asking this.

They want to buy multiple items and allocate some units to one shipping address, and some units to another different shipping address. I'm wondering if this is a new thing because I never thought of doing that as a buyer. I told them they'd have to make separate transactions per shipping address.

Did Amazon start honoring stuff like this and buyers are wanting it now or something? Maybe it's just coincidental.

I'd stick with 'you want multiple locations? that means multiple separate orders, one per location.'

This feels like they they are just trying to get out of paying shipping charges for multiple locations, even though it would cost you multiple shipping charges.

I get that request a couple times per year. Very infrequent. I tell them the same thing you did - they have to make a separate purchase for each address.

Plus you lose Seller Protection if you ship to an address that is not officially part of the single order they placed.

🤨 Not sure I understand. But I do spend time w/ deal ol' granny nearly everyday, thanks 😉

Anyway, I'm just suggesting why a buyer may want it, and as we all know, buyers aren't always the brightest and don't know how to accomplish simple tasks like make separate orders and ship to separate locations.

Oh I thought you were "advertising" to buyers who would want lift their fingers less and less every holiday season having online sellers do most of their holiday work. It was just a prediction of what buyers would ask for in the future at this rate 🙂

I also ended up telling the buyer nicely that they are able to just have me send all the units to them and they keep what they want and send the rest to the other address on their own. They originally wanted some to their house and like the rest to their brother or something. He's trying to keep his combined item shipping discounts while buying gifts for other people. But he doesn't realize doing so would "uncombine the items" during shipping.

The buyer would need to make separate purchases for each address.
