Shipping Cost on Ebay

I listed an item that I have 4 of and a buyer bought all 4. The listing did not show "Lot of 4". When going to create shipping label from ebay I noticed the amount for shipping that was paid was approx 1/2 the cost of what it cost to purchase the ebay label. Does ebay not charge the amount of shipping on a per piece basis in a situation like this? Even if I were to ship each piece individually the cost the buyer paid does not cover that either. 

Do I have to purchase the label that ebay offers or can I just use my UPS account (UPS is what was offered and customer selected)? Granted this will be a learning experience this time but going forward I may need to rethink all the shipping options that could end up with a case like this.

Did the buyer pay for each item separately ? If so the ship cost would have been four times the shown cost of one label. Did the buyer put the items in their cart ? Did you show a quantity of 4 on the listings that a buyer can choose from ?

I'd say it's alright to use your UPS account since that was offered and the buyer selected it. Good luck!

Seems like you are giving us all the information here. If you had 4 quantity available and the weight of each piece was 8 ounces and the buyer purchased all 4 the shipping weight should have calculated at 32 oz or 2 lbs

The customer purchased all 4 items in one transaction. Qty was listed as 1, 2, 3, or 4 to choose from.

After looking back at the payout I think I have figured out what I SHOULD have done.

S/H Purchased each label individually vs combined.

I assume the item was the "Genuine Xerox Charge Corotron Assembly 125K05030" of which you originally had 6. 

What was your shipping rule for multiple purchases? I'm seeing the shipping price as $18.90 for 1 item (USPS GA) and for UPS it's $23.36 each. 

I can't imagine that the price of shipping all 4 together would be more than $80-$100.

Before you change shipping carriers, make sure of what the buyer selected since your listing offered a choice of USPS GA, USPS priority, UPS and Fedex.

Without more details it's hard to know what happened but it sounds like an error on your part.

I figured out what I should have done and how I should have shipped it.

Instead of combining all pieces I should have shipped each piece individually.

Yes, it was an error on my part. Lesson learned. Still trying to figure everything out, all the fee's and charges that ebay has.
