Hi, I am wondering if anyone can please explain to me why I am always paying MORE for a shipping label than the buyer paid in shipping?  I always weigh every item in the package it will be shipped in with the exact measurements of the package yet I end up paying $1-3.00 more for the shipping label than the buyer actually paid for shipping.  How is that possible?  Please help.

I checked a couple of your listings and was surprised to see that the prices shown for various ZIP Codes are totally different from (and lower than) the published rates.  Are you using the eBay shipping calculator in listings, or have you set up shipping tables, which would need to be updated?

We might be able to help if you provide specific details, including package weight and dimensions, service used (e.g., Priority Mail?), both ZIP Codes, and both exact prices.

not sure why your shipping is different or why your measuring your items?  I gather your sending usps first class and that might be the reason, shipping that way is price by zones, further away, you pay more..  Wouldn't it be better to send usps flat rate priority?  No measuring, no weighing, and the rate is the same for anywhere, the price is about the same as your charging now

Are you charging priority shipping rates, but using flat rate boxes, maybe the Post Office is charging you the difference? Without being able to see how you have things setup when you do your listings, we can only make guesses.  If you charge Priority flat rate and use the proper flat rate box, you should be seeing a discount, not a charge. There is a difference in the rates for Priority mail and Priority Flat rate, the two boxes can not be interchanged.

Your Coach 9892 purse shows $8.03 shipping to me in Delaware via Priority mail. But Priority from your zip to mine shows as $9.10 for less than a pound on the USPS website.

Are you choosing a flat rate package?

Definitely something amiss there. Shipping Priority to your own Zip comes up as $6.94, and that can not be done.

Are you listing your items on the app or computer?

Hi, that is what has been happening to me from day one of selling on eBay.  I have been trying to figure this out and it continues to happen.  I think I will start charging the same flat rate to all buyers on all of my items.

I haven't seen anyone on this thread ask the obvious question yet - how are you purchasing your USPS postage?  Are you buying shipping labels through eBay, or are you paying retail rates at the USPS counter?
