eBay is failing to address the **severe shipping delays** caused by carriers, which is directly impacting sellers. These delays make our businesses **uncompetitive** against giant online retailers that offer faster, more reliable shipping. eBay needs to take action to protect sellers and ensure fair competition.

What "actions" would you suggest ebay take to protect sellers from shipping delays?

@yoyo958 eBay won't do anything - their stance is that we choose the shipping company, not them.
Some sites like Poshmark and Mercari contract with carriers and issue their own labels, and so take more responsibility for notification due to their sponsorship. eBay is simply too big and complicated to do this.
What they DO do is notify sellers/buyers of shipping delays due to major weather events.
Also, eBay isn't Amazon.

What "severe shipping delays" are you talking about? I ship exclusively via USPS Ground Advantage and I'm seeing an average of 2-4 days for delivery, packages going clear across the country to the opposite coast being the exception with 5-7 days.

What? Their announcements on this very subject isn't covering what weather event? Have you read them? Or do you assume Ebay is doing nothing? Ebay has always protected seller regarding weather events.
This is the most recent one.
Here are others:
And those are just since the first of the year 2025. Sometimes a little homework goes a long ways.

Had a neutral removed yesterday due to weather delay. Took less than 10 minutes from sending request to request approval. eBay definitely took action, had my back on this and by no means is failing me as a seller.

eBay doesn't offer any shipping services, eBay sellers select the shipping services they wish to use.
That being said, I use USPS Ground Advantage and Media mail with no "severe shipping delays".

I use the USPS and I have had zero transactions affected by a shipping delay in the past 5 years.
What service are you using? What percentage of your packages are affected? What percentage of eBay sellers do you think are affected? How do the delays you are experiencing make you uncompetitive against the competition?

The USPS is experiencing more problems in some areas, and as a seller, it has been a real nightmare for me. The distribution center closest to me (Kansas City, MO) is facing a lot of issues. In addition to USPS delays, I'm having trouble with tracking eBay's standard envelope shipments. I sell holy cards and prayer books, and because of the fees, eBay makes about as much money as I do off my items. Customers aren't willing to pay $4-$5 to ship a $1.50 holy card, so I send them in a card with just a postage stamp. Since there’s no tracking, there isn’t much I can do when problems arise.
For those who aren’t experiencing issues with USPS, count your lucky stars. To give you an example of the USPS chaos in my area: I’ve received multiple packages shipped to me from a town just 20 minutes away, coincidentally about 15 minutes from the KCMO USPS distribution center. One package traveled from Lee's Summit, MO, to Kansas City, MO, then to Kansas City, KS, and finally to Rochester, NY, before it ended up in Pleasant Hill, MO. Two other packages took a similar route but ended up in NJ and OR before reaching Pleasant Hill, MO. This has happened recently, and some of my eBay orders have taken up to a month to arrive at their destinations.
In fact, I’ve had three customers open disputes this week regarding items I shipped that haven't arrived. Two of those orders were sent using postage stamps, and one was shipped with eBay's standard envelope. I mailed the last package using eBay standard envelope shipping on March 5th, and from then until March 21st, it showed no tracking information. It still hasn’t arrived at its destination, but eBay has already refunded the buyer. They mentioned that I could invoice the buyer or file a claim with USPS—what a joke! I’m seriously considering shutting down my store until things improve.

Do you have a suggestion as to what eBay can do to address the severe shipping delays?

For some reason, haggling over a couple of bucks when it comes to a matter of faith seems counterintuitive to me.

Even the 'giant online retailers' Packages are delayed. I speak from personal experience. Perhaps you meant to word your post differently. Once the package leaves our care, custody, control, we are at the mercy of the Carrier. I do ship USPS, when I mail items out what I have found helpful is I do send a notification the purchaser advising them 1) their item has been sent via USPS with Tracking # ......, 2) estimated delivery date, 3) if their State is listed w/ a weather advisory issued by USPS & to please monitor their Tracking which may affect their final delivery schedule. Customers so far have been gracious if their State has been listed & I have put them on notice.

Have you thought about/tried selling the cards in bundles?

I
Dejoy just gave a speech a few weeks ago saying that Delivering For America launch has not gone as well as planned. Also they are just getting started with the initial new RPDCs. So more functional sorting facilities could be closed and replaced.
