Sending offers

I just went to send a few offers to watchers and almost made a big mistake.

As everyone knows, when you send an offer, you enter a percentage discount of the asking price. It is now showing a dollar amount. Be sure to review your offers before sending. 

I entered 10 on mine thinking 10% discount. I checked it and it stating I'm offering the item for $10.00 sale price.

I wish eBay had an interim confirmation screen to prevent flubs like this before the hitting the send button. It's easy to mistakenly choose percentage instead of dollar amount, and vice versa.

Exactly. I always choose the amount, rather than the percentage, to avoid problems like this.

You have to pick which option you want to use (percentage or dollar amt) in the box above your discount and it sticks till you change it. Yours is now showing dollar amount because the box got switched, but percentage is still an option.

And now you have to work each item individually. I used to bulk a group of selected items, enter a percentage that I'm good with for all, send and be done.

I just sent bulk offers this morning (as a percentage discount, and I confirmed the discounts were for the amounts I expected, since I have had errors before).  Are you saying that option isn't appearing for you?

Thanks for posting about this. Appreciated. Unsure if this was worthy of an announcement or not. Maybe something officially is required. In checking on dot ca, this % option is not available. It may appear eventually, suddenly or never from recent experience(s). So many surprises...so little time!!

I actually sent a couple offers around 5:30 a.m. this morning with no issues. 

I'm east coast time. After 6 a.m. this morning, I started seeing the changes.

Is there an option? I never knew, checked, or changed!

Seems to be the effects of the new update.

Maybe your screen has changed, but I just looked at mine and right above the box to put my percentage discount is a box that states "percentage off" with a down arrow.  If I click the arrow it will switch to "offer amount" which allows me to enter a dollar discount figure instead of a percentage.

FYI! 

I just went to my 'Listings eligible to send offers'. Clicked to send an offer, and there is now a drop-down selection:

Percentage off.

Offer amount.

That was never there before until the latest update rollout started two days ago.

That's weird.  Mine has always had the option available.
