Sending Offers

I've read a lot of posts on this and can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for. How much does Ebay charge when you send an offer. After looking for the info, it seems maybe no fees for this. But, we all know Ebay loves fees. I guess it's just a case of CYA. Are there fees for sending an offer? Thanks for any help.

Re: Sending Offers

Right now, there's no fee for sending an offer.

Have a great day.

Re: Sending Offers

I have never been  charged  a fee for sending out offers. However be careful,  I sold a couple of items and noticed that I was not paid in full for the items. I contacted  eBay's customer service about the discrepancy between the price that I had set and what was paid and was told that there is a policy that eBay can send out offers on items that they feel have been on you page for more than a month. I looked and found no such policy but did find that if you go to the listing page click on the tab that says all statuses. Once you click on that there is a drop down list, find the "With offers sending automatically". After clicking on that click on the blue search under the filters and it will pull up all items that have offers sending automatically. I had over 40 items that had sent out auto offers to buyers without me knowing. IF you don't want the offers to send out automatically you will have to turn that off one at a time, it will not let you do a group fix on this. Hope this helps.

eBay does love fees, but IMHO they are pretty good about warning you when a fee applies. But there is no harm in asking here to be sure.

I do not think "Automatically send offers" is a "policy". I am pretty sure it is an option that you can select while sending an offer. You can elect to have eBay to send future offers automatically:

Automatically send offers to your interested buyers

Once you’ve sent an offer to your interested buyers, the auto-send feature gives you the option to send the same offer to future interested buyers. We’ll automatically check for new interested buyers every 48 hours from when you first send the offer until the listings end or you cancel the auto-send option. The automatic offer will be the same discount that you set up in the original offer.

When setting up an offer, you’ll have the option to select “automatically send offers” in the offer settings. You can both start and stop automatic offers on the Offer Settings tab on the manage offers page.

Re: Sending Offers

Frankly, I hate that they make offers on our listings and undercut our asking prices. Would they like it if we could change their 12.35% to 2% and reduce their net? No, they would not. That's overstepping on their part imho and micromanaging sellers. Sure, they can recommend prices but to actually reach out to watchers and offer them what we aren't? I hate that.

Re: Sending Offers

WOW! Last night I went ahead and put a 10% discount on about half of my items. I had 6 sales in about 3 hours. I guess it does work. I will be doing it again in the future. Thanks again for all the replies.
