hey all, i control a small market on ebay....my sales are consistent for past year, it is obvious something has happened in april and is still in force, my sales are way down, from mid arpil and still down.
i have a feeling their new product based shopping experience is to blame.
now we all have to figure a work around solution to their new program, which is probably dropping our items from catagories that we are not listed in...
just my thoughts, but their are to many of us with the same thing going on.

Sales way down and they keep removing live links in eBay messages, returns, refunds and the resolution center. I have to click through multiple tabs or cut and paste to get to the listing they are messaging me about. Again higher fees and less service.

It is not eBay. You are selling knick-knacks and antiques ... the market is very soft and there is really a poor outlook in the future for the market. As baby boomers are dying off, their old stuff is flooding the markets like eBay and younger generations just don't want it. So, more & more inventory combined with fewer & fewer buyers means that revenue per seller is dropping dramatically.
Sorry, Nobody Wants Your Parent's Stuff
SO very tired of your multiple replies blaming MULTIPLE sellers - keep drop shipping with your head in the sand. I actually LOVE ebay, and will continue to look for ways to help giving myself the exposure needed to sell - and kudos to your own sales - I would never begrudge anyone a profit

Me too! I had a decent first quarter by my standards, however, everthing came to a halt on April 1st. Getting 0-3 views per item where as I always had double digits before. I guess my switch was turned off. I don't want to waste anymore time doing new listings. Without any views, I don't stand a chance. Well, at least I no longer have to pay FVFs, but the store subscription is something I need to re-evaluate!!! I want the old eBay back!!!

(a) I'm not blaming sellers ... I'm blaming the markets. Everyone continues to point fingers at eBay, as if there is some widespread problem, and I'm simply pointing out that there is not a widespread problem. The people claiming problems with sales tend to be isolated to a handful of markets.
(b) I do not drop ship. Everything I sell is in one of two warehouses with products that my company owns.

I've spoken to a large amount of sellers from a HUGE variety of markets, all saying the same things regarding an all inclusive drop in sales - and all I ever hear from you is "advice" on how they need to change this or that - while you have no idea WHAT avenues they have tried - just very tiresome hearing you put blame on sellers
I am basing my opinions on two things.
I really don't think that my message to anyone has been on how to change - I don't know that I have enough insight into any person's operations to suggest too much of a change. If I have a "drum beat" message, it is simply that I do not believe eBay is in a death spiral resulting in mass losses in sales ... nor do I believe that eBay is out to get certain sellers. There are simply other more likely causes for sales drops.

These boards are waaaaaaaaaay too negative. I would prefer an atmosphere of constructively guiding one another and encouraging one another to change in order to increase sales.
But, if that's not what this community of sellers want here - if they just want to keep self-confirming a bias of eBay persecution - perhaps I need to find a more constructive community.

I thought they were just moving some tech items over to the product based platform right now, but I just got done scrolling about the plus size for women category, and I think they are working on other categories as well. Play around with some of the sales pages randomly and what do you see? It's interesting ... I like the new look actually. I suspect many of us will be off and on and on and then off during the transition. Hopefully it will get better.

Sales may be up for ebay but that doesn't mean all Sellers sales are up. It just means that the bigger companies are getting more advertising and making the sales. Us poor people can't afford pricey advertising and ebay is pushing us further into a hole by charging outrageous fees for EVERYTHING! It's not enough we pay Final Value, Listing Fees, Store Fees, now we have to pay to have our items PROMOTED. We should be treated equally and we're not. Like Ive said, ebay doesnt care about the little guys. They got where they are on our blood and now they're trying to suck the rest of it out of us.

Whenever I see people denying there is an eBay sales problem and instead blaming it on the seller, I can't help but wonder if they are eBay employees. In other words, people that maybe sell on eBay just to say they do, but do not actually depend on any of it as income. Hoping things get back to the way they used to be...Good luck to all.

I consider them to be optimistic. However, if you look outside the box and read articles from tech and finance, you get a pretty good idea of what's going down, especially the relevance of the site itself in the long-term. I never used eBay before and just jumped in and bought a store a couple months ago, mainly because I wanted the tools. My traffic/impression stats are frozen again, this time at April 18th (not that they were up-to-date to begin with). I was excited about the inclusion of Terapeak, but I have seen no work on that end. I could just dump the store, but I am hopeful this work will be done. If not, I will just dump the store at the beginning of the New Year. Off I go to call customer service again to put in another tech request to update my stats, which hopefully will be serviced in about a week

I assure you cannot an eBay employee. Just a smAll seller who works her butt off seven days a week for 9 hours a day.
My store goes darkroom about the 9 th to 15 th every month. It is frustrating to say The least. However I am still up 100% over LY April and $1500 above march. I add new items daily and constantly run sales. I do not use promoted listings unless it is a high dollar unique item.
Yes I think ebay does fishy things. I just try to work with their deceitfulness.
