I don't see any evidence that you have ever sold anything on eBay.

What do you mean by "again".

Don’t know how you missed it.  Second problem, past the shipping disaster, is that it sold for $1000, so even if the seller had been selling here for 25 years, the funds would still be held.

Re: Selling

I often wonder how many sellers need to leave Ebay until they do not see a net increase in profit with every departure.

Those of us who sell here know there are more sellers on Ebay than there are buyers for all of the items listed. Every seller and every item listed increase the overhead costs for Ebay.

Sellers who are selling profitably, and paying significant Ebay FVFs are less likely to leave than the casual seller looking to rid themselves of surplus stuff in their home or trying their hand at retail arb.

Large swaths of Ebay categories have no real competition on Internet marketplaces. Many other marketplaces will not allow these products to be listed, and those which do lack the traffic and buyers that Ebay has. Obviously, both the amount of traffic and the number of sales is dependent on factors beyond Ebay's control, but most of those factors affect all Internet marketplaces.

I say this in the middle of my worst sales month in many years, knowing full well that I am not taking the actions which have made this tolerable when it has occurred in the past.

Re: Selling

You seem hurt that someone got asked what there was to be helpful with. I was genuinely confused on how you can be helpful to a statement that had no surrounding information. I do know that there are a handful of you that are just chompin at the bits to cut and paste something but I don't get how that could possibly apply on this thread. I never said don't just create scenarios out of thin air to help people so you can be a helper. go for it. I may respond about how you did make something up out of nothing though. So from my stand point I was not hurt.  and for the record of the facts the anagram was by far the most helpful thing on this thread. you thought you would be the biggest helper by white knighting but it was the anagram. thank you.

Re: Selling

"The only problem with canceling the order, the OP has to pay for the refund, since the funds are being held."

I don''t know the policies on this and I don't care about them as I gave up selling on eBay quite some time ago.  Depending on the fees involved, it is probably still cheaper than doing the "honorable" thing and paying for the shipping costs to complete the transaction.  Depending on how you slice things, it's still going to be a loosing proposition for the seller.  Since the seller is saying good-bye to eBay, so what?
