Selling without PayPal still not possible?

I've been an on and off buyer for a few years here, but now I just want to sell some of my hardware things. However PayPal is available in Ukraine only as a "send money" service, not "receive money" - so nobody will be able to actually send me a cent - making PayPal basically useless for me.

Of course there are options like using 3rd party PayPal accounts that are registered abroad and would charge a rather huge additional fee and I'd rather not use that semi-shady method.

So as per thread's title - I'm out of luck if I want just to sell something and get paid directly to my CC?

You are out of luck unless eBay's Managed Payments program offers you an alternative to PayPal. Many are being offered Payoneer.

@furmua5,

Here is some information about how managed payments will work for global sellers. In some countries, you have to provide a bank account to receive the payments, and in other countries, the payments will be sent to a Payoneer account.

By July 2021, all new seller accounts are supposed to be registered with managed payments.

@lacemaker3

Payoneer fits me, as it allows me to "receive money" over here. But how do I know if I'm eligible to use that method? Or any other method other than PayPal? Do I need to contact eBay? If yes - where and how?

@furmua5,

Here is information about registering a selling account as a global seller.

https://export.ebay.com/en/first-steps/how-use-ebay-seller-account/how-to-create-seller-account/

I don't know what you will see on that page, because it may depend on what country your registered address is in. If you still see information about needing a PayPal account, then it hasn't been updated for the new registration process yet. In that case, you can try again later, or try to start the process anyway and see if you can get to where it asks you for a bank account or a payoneer account.

I don't know what the implementation plan is for sellers in the Ukraine. eBay has been announcing some countries in Europe as they are implemented, but hasn't said anything about countries that are using Payoneer.

Re: Selling without PayPal still not possible?

Every country allows it's citizens to receive money from countries around the world.

Every country does not allow it's citizens to sell commercially and receive money from countries around the world.

Payoneer can and will advise you that if or under what conditions/ requirements you are allowed to open an account that receives money from commercial activity and then forwards this to your account in Ukraine.

We in the west are no longer used to our central Banks having currency and or other restrictions that are any where near as draconian as practiced by some other countries.
