As some of you know, I have been been off ebay for about 3 weeks with a serious foot/leg inury.
It's a long story but I wanted to tell the EBAY part of the story.
I was in the hospital for 2 days. I have a 2 day handling time on my ebay items.
I immediately set my ebay sales to "time away" but i still had outstanding orders to fill.
On the second day (after my surgery) I was so anxious/worried about taking care of my ebay orders
(plus i just wanted to get the heck out of the hospital. It was my first ever stay in a hospital).
I was the worst patient ever. I actually ripped off all those electrode things from my body.
I even ripped out my IV. I just wanted out of there. I told the shocked nurse "i've got to get out of here".
They let me go home with a half cast (below the knee) with the strict orders not to put
ANY PRESSURE WHATSOEVER on the foot/leg. Being the impatient idiot that I am,
when I got home I immediately hobbled upstairs to process my ebay orders.
I only had a few hours to get them done and to the post office. Mission accomplished.
Unfortunately I must have re-injured myself. I was bleeding through the cast. Back to the ER.
They re-did the surgery and this time put me in a full leg cast bent at the knee so that my foot
does not even touch the ground. I was instructed again absolutely no pressure on that foot/leg.
I am now for the most part bed ridden for the next 3 months.
The moral of this story is ... do what your doctors and nurses tell you -and- don't worry about ebay.
It's just ebay. Your health is more important.
My best friend set me up with a computer but it's still awkward to type/work from bed.
He also offered to help me with ebay.
I took off my time away but are only selling about 1/2 my items,
the items that are easy to pack and ship.
I'm also back on the boards but because of my mood wont be nearly as sarcastic as I use to be. 😉

As a retired nurse, your story is a familiar one..but I do hope you feel better soon.

Kimo-Money can be replaced at some point, but you as a person cannot. Take care of yourself and get well. I'm sure the spunk will come back eventually. A hui ho.

I was glad to see a "Helpful" from you yesterday or the day before!
Just try to relax now and let the healing continue!

Well that is a story and a hard lesson to learn: But i Like the stubborn part of this: it is what will get you through it.
Be sarcastic; I miss that about ye posts... You have had a great humor to go with your postings and topics.
Always worth a read...
Glad you are doing OK...
As for eBay it really is secondary to your health: Hopes that all this works out for you.

Welcome back! Thank you for sharing your story. Hoping you heal quickly with a minimum of issues!

Hope you heal up soon! I don't know if you're into the whole binge-watching thing, but maybe now's the time! 😲

@inhawaii Moral of the story, always keep your health a priority over anything else in life. I realize your sales may be your only source of income, but you only ever get two feet in your life. Risking having a permanent limp or requiring a cane for the remainder of your life just so that you didn't get a ding from eBay, so not worth it. I'm glad you are back; glad you are now heeding doctors' orders and I only wish you a quick and smooth recovery. All the best....

All of that when a note to eBay on Facebook or Twitter would forgive all.
Take care of you… You are irreplaceable.

So sorry to hear that friend, I hope you recover well. Try and rest as much as you can.

Glad to see you post again, take it slow and easy. You only have one you...so take care of yourself first.

I'm glad that you're back, and still putting up a ____uva fight. I would expect no less.
From now on, you listen to them. Leave the electrodes and the IV alone. They're there for a reason. Respect them.
You need to get a pair of Lofstrand crutches, aka forearm crutches. You need them. Now. With these, it will be possible to get around without putting weight on your leg, so find a pair and get them.
I'm speaking from experience, you will not be able to get around with ordinary under-arm crutches if you can only bear weight on one leg. So get the good ones, so you can heal properly. When I needed them, it took me a couple of hours to find the only medical-supply company within 100 miles that had them in stock, but it was worth it. I drove there and didn't leave until I had a pair.

Terribly sorry to hear about the re-injury. What a debacle. I can't even imagine having to have a 2nd surgery.
No messing around this 2nd go-round. Put the leg ahead of everything else.
I am still recovering from hip replacement. Have to be real careful still with squatting/kneeling which is almost impossible. Then developed an a-fib, so I have been here hanging out on the boards quite a bit as I try to take it easy. So, be seeing you around. Take care!

Been there, and agree with this: It do help some; as me back when: it may aid you as well.
