I'm trying to set up a single listing for multiple dvd's I have for sale (over 100). I know there is a way to do it where you have a dropdown box that lists each of the items, and can even select different prices, but I can't figure out how to do it myself.
I've read through the articles about variations and stuff, but I'm having a lot of trouble grasping the concepts since they deal with size, color, etc, and not dvd titles (I have a learning disability). I'm hoping someone can hold my hand and walk me through the exact steps on how to create this specific listing. How to list the titles so they all show in the dropdown box, listing the quantity of each item, and the price of each item. I'm listing this as a "buy it now" sale rather than an auction.
Thanks!

Set up a listing for each DVD separately.

That's not what I'm asking about. I'm not having any luck selling them individually and want to try the single listing option.

There is no option for what you want to do!
eBay does not consider what you want as "variations" and do not allow it.
You can list the DVD's as a "lot", say 10 assorted dvd's with a single price for the lot of 10.

So how are auctions like this one set up?
Or are they abusing the system somehow? (I don't want to do that)

That listing is a violation.

I'm not so sure if it is. There used to be a help page with a list of the categories and subcategories that could use variations so I went looking for it and that page doesn't seem to exist anymore and near the bottom of the article I found it says this:
Most categories are set up for eBay listing variations.

Can't be a violation.......no way for a seller to add that box to the listing page....
they must have variation listings in the category...........

I'd tend to agree and possibly an SNAD in the making. The description says 1 DVD but the title says mixed lot of 30 - you pick titleS - having the word Lot and adding the S to titles sends a different meaning.

Okay. I looked into the variations, it just didn't offer movie title as one of the built-in options. The advanced listing is a little overwhelming and I didn't know if I was doing it right. I may look into some different selling options instead, if there's a possibility this might violate ebay's ToS.

Sorry! I first looked at that listing on my mobile and it looked like a choice listing violation.
I just looked at it on my PC and see the dropdown menu, which is an allowed variation.

Do you happen to have a link to the categories allowed?
I did the same as horses and came up with the same.
I understand you were just talking about not being able to add a box though.
I could find no link to allowed categories, as Horses says.........page says "most" categories have it. Rather than spend hrs trying to find it, I just tried sell similiar on that listing and that comes up with the variation listing........

It is a violation. It is called a "choice listing" and it is not permitted under the fee avoidance policy:
Not Allowed:
Selling different brands or models of an item in a single listing
