Selling large dimension item and negotiating alternative shipping methods using 'Local pick up'

I'd like to sell a heavy car part that has width and length dimensions that are 3 feet.

Unfortunately the minimum shipping price for FedEx and UPS is $200+.

With Greyhound, it's around $90 for station to station, or around $135 from station to customer's front door.

I'd like to offer both FedEx/UPS and Local pick up as a shipping option.

In the item description, I'd like to let buyers know, that if they select 'Local pick up', we can organize a far cheaper shipping option of around 50% cost saving using Greyhound, and that such action will result in less eBay buyer protections.

Is this within eBay rules?

As suggested I don't want to give users the idea that I'm not willing to go through the challenge of properly packaging such items, hence why I at least want to offer FedEx/UPS as an option.

Also I would like the shipping price to vary based on buyers location, hence why I do not choose 'Flat rate freight'.
