Selling items

I recently had a conversation with another eBay seller I know. My question to them was as follows:

Do you look at sold items? I’m not particularly concerned about the price or description. What I really appreciate is the new feature on eBay—the square circle index for pictures. However, the other seller mentioned that they conduct research on the item. They specifically check if the item description area is filled in and then create their listing accordingly. I’m curious if anyone else has a different approach.

Regarding shipping, when I post items, I personally choose the shipping method I want. I sorted that out months ago.

I have to admit that I have no idea what the square circle index for pictures is.

I do look at sold listings but mainly for the sold price and the amount  sold. Sometimes I go

into a listing and double check my measurements etc but I wouldn't base my description solely on another listing as I don't know how accurate that listing is.

absolutely I look at sold items or terapeak for less popular items,

low sold numbers/value with lots of competition = scrap pile or trash, if it looks sellable then look at average sales prices and current listings

I just emailed you.   Descriptions in the items I ai that and within 300 characters.   I know the verdict is the photo and if the buyer wants the item.   just had an idea in mind to get more sales and i think i found it.

"the square circle index for pictures"  - is this a photo search feature?

Absolutely need sold data and would like to be able to look at prices going back further than currently available.

Click on your 1st photo.   then on the bottom look for a square and a circle.   Click it and it does the rest.

Do you look at sold items?

I look at sold item BEFORE I acquire inventory. While I am very knowledgeable about my niche, I cannot possibly know everything. If I find an item I am unfamiliar with, I generally check sold items to see if there is demand.

I have no idea what you mean by this.

What if the item description area is not filled in?

when I post items, I personally choose the shipping method I want

I use the service that I offered and that the buyer selected. I would be a fool to do otherwise.

"I’m not particularly concerned about the price"

Shouldn't that be a sellers biggest concern?
